so the overall (perhaps unfair) impression I've gotten from the internet is that bronies are "lonely" single white males. I'm curious as to how accurate the stereotype is. any "atypical" bronies / pony fans here? I'm a happily married 24-year-old pegasister.
The internet would give you that impression. There's a certain stereotype that sometimes gets to hold the microphone for a bit too long (read: comments on any 9GAG post). I'm white and single, but neither lonely nor male. So... Cookies for us for having two X-chromosomes I guess?
I guess I fit into the stereotype. I'm white and have been single on the internet for 7-8 years, and single IRL forever. I have bouts of loneliness, but have generally come to the conclusion that a relationship isn't worth it for me, so meh. I find friends to be enough.
I'm a lonley single white male and I'm sure I'm not the only one. But there's probably alot of non single men as well as women bronies or pegasisters if they wanna be called that but I don't think they like that name. Anyways, what do I know... I could be wrong
for some reason I prefer pegasister... I just don't like the term "bro" in any form. it doesn't fit me. thanks so much for all your replies, everypony - - Auto Merge - - also, as an addendum: this post's intent wasn't to offend anypony. I'm just new to the fandom / herd & as a married female, I feel a little out of place.
I'm white, however I'm not single and I'm not lonely. Although others have told me i'm the exception that proves the rule.
Uhm okay im White. Not Single, only sometimes a little lonely (Relationship over distance and stuff), and im a female (pretty sure bout that)
White, male, single check. Lonely, kind of, all my school friends are still in my home town so not knowing anyone here can be lonely at times. However when I first started watching I was never really lonely since I could hang out with my friends.
SunBurn, I guess in certain corners of the web that's true (perhaps on reddit for example), but I tend to mostly frequent facebook / pinterest / blogs, so I'm more accustomed to a strong female presence.
I wish my parents or older brother would watch pony or any cartoon with me for that matter. My parents do enjoy when I write and read them My Little Pony stories though.
I'm white, female, and engaged. My fiance supports my fandom, but he's not a fan. Although he has watched episodes, and he watched the Brony doc when I got it
JediPony, it's so awesome that you & your son share a fandom! Changeling, my hubby supports me watching MLP as well. He watches it with me, but isn't a brony. Although he does laugh quite a bit -- I suspect he enjoys it more than he lets on ;]
Not a stereotype mostly cause of race (African American), I also don't know if being a transgender counts (a woman with male parts). I am in a real rocky relationship, and often complicate ending it. I am rarely the stereotype in most of my interests, cause it is usually consider 'white interests' and my skin doesn't fit it. I feel discrimination from both whites and blacks. One reason I rarely mention my race. Sent from my iPod touch named 'Rainbow Dash' cause I am the Realest BRonY in the mug, by Tapatalk.
