It only started happening a few days ago, but everytime someone posts an embedded youtube video, it cuts about a quarter of it off from the right side. Is anyone else having this problem? I use IE8, and no, don't tell me to update.
And yet another topic turned into an IE bashing thread. Either the problem can be fixed, or it can't.
Hmm. I don't see this on IE 10 or 9 on my PCs. Though I do know that the videos will get chopped off on the side if the postboxes are smaller than the player's width. Are you on a smaller screen or zoomed in?
I wasn't but things seem to be working normal now. I have no idea what could have caused it to do that.
This isn't about basing IE. We're basically saying it's an internet browser issue, not an EP issue. You'll have to either update your IE, or change to another browser.
I dislike that conclusion if it's actually an issue with browser compatibility. A good developer would try to accommodate that, provided it's not exclusive to one user due to something else that went wrong for whatever reason. And if it can't be accommodated, well then it's up to the browser devs to patch it.
Isn't that usually why they make new versions? I doubt they're still gonna bother making patches for IE8 when they already made IE9 and 10.
Mostly security patches. If it requires lots of tweaking to the browser engine it's not usually worth their time. But some web devs will work to still support as far back as IE6. I think that's a bit crazy since there's absolutely no reason (except for the occasional I have to for X reason or they've got a really old OS) to be that far back in the past, but people still do use it...
I believe that's a topic for another thread. Anyway, i believe this is pretty much resolved. I'll re-open it on request if necessary. ~Locked~
