Petter Fandom Will It Become As Big and Popular as Brony Fandom?

The fandom isn't yet as loud and obnoxious as the pony fandom has become. Less hate-fuel. But it's there. This is the internet.

EDIT: Actually, the most negative comments I've seen has been from MLP fans.

 

Finding LPS fan art is a not as easy as MLP. I can only think of one artist.

 

I watched 'Friendship is Magic' because I learned that it was created by Lauren Faust.
That is the ONLY reason that I finally decided to give the show a chance.
Without big names like Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, and Lauren Faust, 'Littlest Petshop' and it's fandom seem doomed to fade into obscurity.

 

I doubt they stack up to SmittyG.

Your hope is based on a fallacy. Most of the fans of LPS don't refer to themselves as anything more than fans of the show. So this is good news to you, I'm assumin'.

There's already a fan-made game under production, you can read about it on PSI's earlier pages.

Smitty G is of our fandom, I've seen him around /co/ drawing for us quite often. He prefers NSFW art, though, but I love the guy. Am I misinterpreting your statement?

Concerning the thread's primary question: No way in hell will this fandom ever get a brony-sized fandom going for it, and that's a fact. Not even accounting the fact that the garnered fanbase for MLP was completely inadvertent and is impractical to recreate deliberately, LPS just doesn't have the potentially to attract nearly as much attention by itself, especially when the producers obviously set out to get a following for the show at least comparable to MLP's.

I'm not arguing, though, I personally don't want the LPS fandom to get that big. Our current fandom is operating okay. If you're someone that desires loads of fan content and activity, though, I'd say you're S.O.L. for the time being. I like where our fandom is right now. Sure, I'd like it to be a little bigger and have some more activity going for it, but only time can grant such things.

I just saying the other few artist I've seen do work of LPS is lacking compared to smitty.

 

Oh. Well, yeah, that art. <3 I like dotkwa's art most, but we have quite a few other proficient artists among our fandom, at least, from what I've seen. Most of the art I see doesn't get posted outside of tumblr unless it finds its way to the PSI, and then there are the drawfriends on /co/. I wish capnpea drew more, though, his style is pretty amusing.

Most of artists in the fandom have improved considerably since I got active last year. I can vouch for that, but again, I wouldn't know of others around DA or elsewhere that hasn't been mentioned by me.
