"Well, that was...odd," remarked Quickstar. "When you spend time with Pinkie, you get used to things like that," replied Twilight. "So, where were we?" "I believe I was countering your assertion that levitation had to encompass an entire object in order to work." "Oh, come on! Everypony knows that levitation fields are frictionless and you have to surround an object to move it! Using it to light a fire by rubbing tiny parts of the fuel together to create friction is ridiculous!" "Do I have to do the candle thing again?" And like that, they were lost in their work again. (Well, I'll keep an eye on this thread for a bit, but I think the Twilight/Quickstar plotline has played itself out for now. I'll let you all take the lead in the next subplot.)
((can you maybe calm it with posts, Seeing as I'm not in the same timezone. at this rate I can only post a couple of posts every 5 pages)) Fireheart was busy working at the hearts and soul restaurant which she ran with her parents. Business was booming especially since it was one of the few restaurants not bought out by Mark co. So fire decided to keep it that way. As she cleaned the outside tables on Tremellion Road. She simply thought about the time when she took the role as restaurant manager and not just a waitress.
(Same here. I went to sleep last night before it started and woke up to see it's about five pages in. I can only post about 2 or 5 posts a day here.) Lancer looked at her customers as she walked towards them at the counter and held a bottle of cider. She had a nice appearance to her and she wasn't the tallest of the group, but one of the most agile. "Hello. Here is your order of some of our finest wine" she said to the customer. The customers face lit up in glee as she paid Lancer and went on her way. Her tavern was one of the most successful in Equestria, ponys came from all around Equestria to enjoy it’s award winning hospitality, service and atmosphere. She smiled at the thought of the Tavern’s success and went back to work by taking an order from another customer.
((I agree with Crimson and Robin, calm down the posting when it's only a few of us online. Also, Robin, Tremalion isn't around yet, that's why you don't know you're elements)) A black pegasus stepped off the train to Ponyville, and looked around. "You never change, do you Ponyville?" Dark Light asked no particular pony. Then, she took a running start and took off, flying just above Ponyville. It's not often she got to fly around for no reason, and so that was one of the many reasons she always came to Ponyville while on leave. The wind in her face, warm glow of the sun shining down on her unhindered. It felt nice to say the least.
((I know, To Fire and Everypony else though it's just an old street name)) After cleaning the tables. Fire simply walked up to her room. She sat in front of a mirror as she put in extensions and combed it. She also put quite a bit of make-up on. Tonight there was going to be a large formal gathering at the restaurant and she needed to look her best. She put on a black silk and lace dress and a gold necklace. Then waited to be called down and be ready to serve to the Canterlot elite.
(Sorry about that, I'm new here, and I guess I got carried away. I'll try to pace myself better from now on.)
Celestia was looking through her usual daily reports of the going ons inside and around Equestria, it was simply just another one of those things ingrained in the routine she had developed in the over thousand years of ruling Equestria. Usually it was nothing more than reports from guards about the current situation in cities and towns, and also how well everything was going over all, but today was one of those days when something caught her eye. It was an unusual report from a border post on the southern border of Equestria that read, "Suspicious activity is currently occurring to the south, it is unknown what is occurring but even our best scouts accompanied by weather ponies couldn't make it through the extremely turbulent weather that seems to be gathering over the area of interest. The activity has been growing along with the unusual weather in recent weeks. Will keep updates coming." Celestia narrowed her eyes at the report, "The only real thing to the south is no longer a danger..." She murmured to herself, then quietly gasped to herself, "What if He has recovered his strength! What if...He still thinks the war is going on!" she continued to murmur. She swallowed and got up from her throne, it was time to alert Luna, and maybe send some Guards to investigate.
Lancer was cleaning the tables once the doors to her tavern were closed. She made sure that every bit of grime and dust were let spotless to ensure customer satisfaction when the doors open again. Her staff liked looking after the tavern alongside her and cared for it like it was their children. Not only was her tavern the best in Ponyville, it was one of the best in the entire kingdom with it's status even reaching into other kingdom's. It was beginning to get very late as she finished cleaning the very last table. Lancer looked around at her achievement proudly before turning of the lights and going upstairs. She thought that maybe tomorrow would be a good day to go game hunting or practice her already superb archery skills. It was amazing what spending a little time on a hobby can lead too... Upstairs was her room and the staff rooms. Unlike most taverns around Equestria, her staff were allowed to live there with her. She lived with seven other members of her staff who treated her like family and made sure that she did the same every night. Above the tavern was almost an entire house dedicated to them where it seemed everynight was an adventure. She had a mixed staff,ranging from stallions to mare and from Earth Pony's to Pegasi and loved working/living there. And it just happened to be that tomorrow was her day off...
Quickstar wandered out of the Golden Oaks library after several hours of debating with Twilight. It had been a while since he had had such a good discussion, and he was nice and relaxed, starting to feel comfortable in his new home. Checking his saddlebags, he noted that he didn't seem to have enough bits left for dinner, and so decided to swing by his house to get some more. On his way, he noticed that the streets seemed strangely empty, even though it was just barely dusk. I wonder where everypony is? Surely they can't just all go to sleep this early. Although this town is awfully close to the Everfree... Just the thought of the mysterious forest send a shiver of excitement down his spine. Now THERE was a place he was looking forward to exploring. As he arrived at his house, Quickstar noticed the door was ajar. How strange...I could have sworn I locked it before going out... In case this little town wasn't as safe as it had appeared, he carefully opened the door and peered into the darkness. Suddenly all the lights came on at once, blinding him as what seemed like a hundred voices shouted "SURPRISE!!!" Still trying to figure out exactly what was going on, Quickstar tried to adjust his eyes to the light, just in time for a familiar pink pony to pop up right in front of him. "Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you! Were you surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh huh huh?" Oh no...not again...
Tyler, who was at the party, decided to go mingle however once he uttered his first word he turned red and quickly trotted over to the couch to sit down and watch the party.
Snow sat on the staircase, hiding herself as she studied the crowd below. She only accepted Pinkie's invitation because she felt this new pony deserved a saner welcome than anything Pinkie would do. She silently cast her aura-reader spell(which essentially revealed the essence within everypony and a skilled reader like her could learn a lot about ponies just by looking at it). She looked around and saw a purplish essence floating around an unfamiliar pony. "Hm, reminds me of Twilight's aura..." She muttered to herself, "Well, might as well say hello.", then proceeded to head down the stairs and through the crowd, keeping her aura spell active to get plenty of warning of incoming Pink Pony, with the only thing giving it away was her purple eyes that were normally blue.
Quickstar had always had a fondness for shy ponies, and something of a sixth sense for noticing ponies who didn't quite follow the flow. When he could tear his attention away from the mass of pink energy, he noticed one young colt ducking off, hiding from the party. He knew it wouldn't be polite to abandon it entirely, but he figured a few minutes away wouldn't be amiss. "Excuse me a minute," he managed to slip in between Pinkie's jabbering and made his way towards the orange pony sitting on his couch, seeming to try to make himself too small to notice. Quickstar was pretty sure the pony was too busy trying to be unseen that he hadn't noticed his approach. "I guess you aren't a big fan of parties either?" he said casually to get the young one's attention.
Dreamer approached the building holding a brown box in his mouth. 'Crud, i forgot he's new, and Pinkie is doing the usual party. Too many ponies, especially with this thing. guess i'll wait till it's over.' he thought before turning towards a small park near the building. He heard the party as he passed and wished things weren't so unpredictable with so many ponies around.
"Oh!" Tyler said "sorry but no I love parties but not as much as the pink one over there its just um..... im really shy and I thought that I should go to a social gathering and so when I heard about the party I thought hey why not however I would rather not mingle as much" said Tyler forcing a smile on his face.
Quickstar smiled kindly. He recognized how uncomfortable the pony was, and decided to start off easy. He usually found that the shy, quiet ones in his class were the ones who did best, once they came out of their shells, and he had developed an instinct to do so with any shy pony he met. "Well, I'm Quickstar, the new pony in town. Very nice to meet you. What's your name?"
Snow fous the new pony talking to another and breathed in and then walked up to the two, "Excuse me, I hope I'm not interrupting anything." She said, "But, well, since you're the new pony around town, I thought you deserved a bit more sane of a welcome!" She said to Quickstar, "I'm Snow, Ponyville's resident CEO of Mark Co, and you are?"
"And where is the rest of your family, if you don't mind me asking?" asked Quickstar. It was then that he heard a voice distracting him. Quickstar looked up for a moment from the shy pony to the white one catching his attention. He recognized her as the pony he had seen earlier outside Sugarcube Corner, the one with "the manner born". And CEO of a large company? That explained her adopting the unconscious habits of nobility. Still, there was something different about her from before, something about her eyes... Well, regardless, it would be impolite to not respond. "Very nice to meet you, Ms. Snow. Professor Quickstar, at your service," he said, offering a hoofshake.
Snow shook Quickstar's hoof, "Pleasure to meet you as well Quickstar.". She noticed that him seemed interested by her eyes, which reminded her that she, of course, hadn't ended her Aura-reading spell. "Oh sorry." She told him with a blink with her eyes returning to a normal blue, "I dabble in different spells, that was just a spell I use to read somepony's aura or essence. Can tell me a lot about how they act" She then turned to Tyler, "I'm very sorry to hear that! Listen, if you ever need any help, just come to me, I promise I will try to help!"
