    Ponyscape is upgraded inkscape.
    Ponyscape has some features that inkscape doesn't have that make vectoring easier, specially if you're making some more complex vectors.
    For example what ponyscape has and inkscape doesn't: fill between strokes (great for fills with no mistakes, plus it dynamically changes with your changing stroke), powerstroke (for making basically perfect tapers in seconds (once you learn to use it)), attach path to stroke (for making sudden color changes within a stroke (useful when making ponies in clothes), or when making hooves that are behind some object (like hooves that are partly behind body)), eclipse by 5 points that dynamically can be changes after effect is made (useful for making eyes), inverse clipping (that can be useful at lot of places), object dialogue (let's say, that's more detailed layer dialogue that has more options), tag system (usually used when making vectors with shadows and/or highlights), circle by 3 points (in pony vectors, useful only when making flickers (like on AJ), but useful for some non pony vectors).

    Well, there's more, but these things are ones that I use the most that are available in ponyscape, but not in inkscape (yet)
