umm what the ****? first of all that had nothing to do with the topic. and also nothing to do with what i said before that post.all i am seeing in this is you being the very stupid steryotype of an atheist. personally if you have beliefs or not is not my business but your post is just the steryotypical self hating atheist who basicly rambles on with anti religion hate speech and refuses to shut up till he gets his way.in short if you dont believe what i believe that is your right but it is not your right to shove your own beliefa down my throat nor is it your right to hijack a thread about the topic homosexuality in order.to try and practice your hate speech. mods please stuff an old sock in that guys mouth before he tries to start a flame war as having to add one guy to the block list is one thing but having to block half the forum because of one guy trying to be off topic and starting a religious war is more than thia lazy unicorn has time for .
You misunderstand the context. The reasoning a lot of people use in regards to the bible comes from the writing of Leviticus in which is says to sleep with another man is an abomination. All he did was use the same writings to point out the ridiculousness in their evidence for this 'evil'
i have no intenet of causing unneccesary strife but the way he said it sounded alot like he was assuming all christians try and shove the bible down his throat but the truth is 99 % of us would never do that. i am sorry if i miss spoke but it felt way to much like he was trying to claim everytime he heard the word bible was at gun point. if your only experience with christians is the ones on the street corner with the end is near sign your not gonna ever understand that we dont actually shove anything in anyones face. the ones on the corner are just lunafics but not to be consider an example of us as a whole. that was all i was tryin to get across because he basicly said it right afyer my post as if he was assuming i was tryin to shovw my beliefs on him.if you read my post before this whole thing you would see it was completely the opposite and i felt like he was only attacking me for being christian even tho i am also progay . anyhoo back on topic. i still believe that you should have a right to declare your love and choice to enter a relationship regardlesa of sexuality
To be fair, homophobia is actually very common, but it's only given such a reputation among religious fanatics due to their overzealous nature on the matter. Most people who are homophobic don't make it all that obvious.
To quote George Carlin- 'When's the last chicken you heard about came home from work and beat the sh*t out of his hen? Doesn't happen. Because chickens are decent people!' the same applies to ducks. Let's all marry ducks- I always found the curly tails of mallards to be quite cute and a duck has never called me a h*e (Ducks are decent people too!)
Uhm. It doesn't apply to ducks, though. If fact, male mallards are really violent to the females wheb mating. I won't go into detail here, but read a little about duck genetalia. You will be disturbed. On second thought, let's go with pigeons instead.
Yknow when my brother came out as gay, i was surprised i'll admit. I didn't know what to think really. It was difficult to process cause i really had never considered it. But never once did i resent him for it and i let him know as soon as he did that i was completely okay with that and that it is completely NORMAL to feel that way. You have no idea the alienation someone can feel if they feel like their sexual orientation isn't normal or they feel guilty for it. I wanted to make him feel as comfortable as possible, because that is what is important. Now, he is confident with it. He can talk about it, he is a great person most of the time (a tad cynical xD) and i am proud to call him my brother. Sexual orientation should be an extremely trivial thing, almost not even worth talking about but for some reason it's this huge huge thing. I think it's just as important as that little spec of dust right there on my desk *points* and it should stay that way and you should never feel uncomfortable or guilty for being a certain way. After all, the saying is "You are who you are" am i right?
w thats just it. your looking at fanatics. 99% of christians are not fanatics.the 1 % group is the same size as the %1 of muslims who might join alqueda. for that matter both groups are less than %1most christians are actually decent people. where as in the area i live in this world there groups proclaiming to be atheists who feel offebded and make sure to cause a media **it storm if i on my own property pkace a small de orative cross in my yard. 99.%9 of christians feel no need to out others on their beliefs this way we simply admit that if its not our property we have no right to a say on it. the religious fanatics you spoke of are a small minority just like the group of white men in pointy hats and bed sheet robes playing casper the racist ghost do not represent any more than a small fraction of whites or southern americans for that matter. telling me a fanatic who claims my religion is at the forefront of this is like telling a myslum that osama is or was at the head of a terrorist group. he will tell you kill him and he would be glad to help because he makes the rest of us have a bad name when we have nothing in common with the fanatic as he is purely an extremist and in no way actually represents what it means to have the faith he claims but is instead going far left from the right path. im just sayin as a christian i believe god gave me common sense so why are fanatics not using theirs?.if two men or women wanna marry and god has a problem he can voice it without some extremeist making all his followers look bad.as a christian i am supposed to be meek and the like you know not be a fanatic and hate people of diffrent oppinions.so again back on topic let them marry if they want. its not my as a human let alone a christian to judge them regardless of how i may or may not feel.they are human and deserve the same rights as all other humans
I don't think anybody here disagrees with you, don. They simply talked about religious fanatics. I think we all acknowledge that it is a small, but loud minority. (Please do type a bit slower, though. Your post was very hard to read.) Speaking of loud; Westboro Baptist church. There seems to be a universal hatred for them, even from conservatives. Now I'm not American so I am obviously not experiencing this first-hand, but is it possible that WBC are unintentionally spreading tolerance for gay people by making intolerance look bad?
more than likely you are right they are causing people to stop and think about the intolerance they see and they realize how retarded it looks which in turn gives them reason to be better than all the hate
WBC aren't even real Christians. They're all financial backers and lawyers that sue you if you say 2 things wrong about their church. That's how they're around today. For the record, I used to be a Christian. I don't hate Christians. Some of them are really nice. I just hate how sometimes when I just want to enjoy my life, they get zealous and try to force their beliefs on me, which is really annoying.
i know how ya mean. as i was saying down here there are fanatical groups but most of us are actually nice.
Until I joined this forum I really never knew or met any gay people before, I don't have any problem with gay people by the way also i'm not gay myself as I have a girlfriend and have never been attracted to other guys.
Yeah, and I respect that. The people who use God's and The Bible's teachings in the right ways are people I respect and like, and there are a lot of them. Where I live though, there are more far-right, diehard homophobic Christians than there are good ones, unfortunately.
funny im here in the bible belt and most christians here tho many dislike the gay "lifestyle" as they call it also mind their own busines. lol they will sure talk behind your back tho. the weird part is that im in the bible belt and yet didn't turn out homophobic im still trying to figure that one out but maybe its just because as a nerd, a furry, and generally a weird guy, not to mention being a brony i guess i know how it can feel to have to not mention who or what ya are. i mean im straight and all but even if i was gay i wouldn't mention it to my blood relatives so yeah i kinda feel for anyone who feels left out especially princess luna. anyhoo around here im one of the few that is accepting of those that are not entirely straight and do what i can to make them feel welcom and accepted even down here where so many of the older generations are so stuck in their unacceptance - - Auto Merge - - take a 3 day weekend and sit online. browse furry websites especially fchan and furaffinity, browse 4chan and other websites long enough and you will be able to call yourself straight with a 1 to 5 % bicuriosity lol. the internet changed me im tellin ya. i mean i could never actually do things with a guy personally but after so much net exposure if a see a guy im capable of commenting if he looks good without questioning if im straight anymore lol
It's possible to meet a gay person and not know they're gay. I met my best friend in college, and didn't know he was gay for months. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
You probably just didn't know or they didn't tell you. For most people it's a nonpriority to tell and frankly, the only reason you should ask if someone is gay is if you're interested in dating them- at least that's my opinion. I dislike when people use the term lifestyle to describe their dislike of homosexuality. Being vegan is a lifestyle, being gay is biological. Sorta like being black isn't a lifestyle it's biological (course I know some skinny white home-boys that would disagree). I didn't know my friend across the street I'd been friends with for 9yrs was gay until he told me. Most people were surprised to hear he was gay too and it came as a shock to several girls that had a crush on him. He told his mother, my mother and me as well as his other friends and his brothers. He didn't tell his father though, his father is very traditional, conservative, baptist, old timey religion; type of guy. I should have suspect something was up, my friend is a fabulous dancer. - - Auto Merge - - Let's forget the fowl altogether and settle with sea horses. Speaking of weird animal mating habits (ducks are the only ones I don't know much about), read this book- it's funny and educational. 'Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice to all Creation'; It's not raunchy as most will believe, it's actually very interesting and amusing. It also talks about homosexuality in a wide range of animal and insect species.
