I was never comfortable with Twilight now being a demi-god above her friends. To be honest, that still makes me nervous.
I don't see how. Her magic was well beyond anyone anyway. So that doesn't change a thing. She has wings, so she can fly. I doubt her being a princess would pull her from her friends. The only change I see is flight which she could've done anyway with magic.
-Didn't want to read 7 pages deep but wanted to comment anyway- So, in the back of my head I kind of thought it was going to happen. So, I am not upset about it. However, I hope they dig a bit deeper as to WHY and HOW she became a Alicorn. She did something, no other pony ha, gotcha. That doesn't exactly explain why she is an alicorn, am I missing something? Anyway, I hope this is a way to widen the area of the story. I love ponyville, but I would like to see some more!
I really don't mind her being a princess all that much, it could bring up some interesting episode opportunities. (Twilight learning to fly is one of them xD) it could also allow for some deeper insight to how being a princess affects Twilight's Life, she could go to Canterlot more often and we might find out more things that we didn't know about Celestia and Luna, or the City itself. The only problem I have is that that episode would have been an amazing 3 parter or 2 parter, her whole story was all just a bit rushed. But maybe they'll go into that more episode 1 of Next season.
The finale IS a three parter, man. xD Eps 1 and 2 of S4 will be parts 2 and 3. As for Twi learning to fly, why does that need an episode? She showed at the end of the finale that she can fly perfectly well with no practice.
I honestly think that it could possibly ruin the show because shes like the main character and now that shes and alicorn and a princess, she could possibly become a background character (most likely not) but anyways theres my opinion on Alicorn Twilight
I'm excited to see where the show will go from here! I'm also kind of curious as to what Twilight will be the princess of.
The first and probably the most important question here is: Will any of the changes she'll go trough (becoming an Alicorn and a princess) be permanent, and if so which ones? Personally, I don't see Twilight staying a princess... perhaps she'll continue to be an Alicorn without being a princess. Although we're yet to know if being an Alicorn is directly connected with the title of a princess. Why would Twilight be a princess only temporarily, you might ask. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic revolves around the Mane 6 and the friendship lessons they learn each episode. Sometimes they don't report the lessons to Celestia, sometimes they do. (I'm looking at you, season 3) The way I see it, in the world of My Little Pony, becoming a princess is pretty much the ultimate goal for someone like Twilight. Once one becomes a princess and an Alicorn, there are no more friendship lessons to learn (maybe a few, but even then mostly related to princesshood, but not enough for a full season if you ask me). Hasbro could continue the series with Twilight being a princess, if they want to tackle politics - but then they'd be pretty much starting a new generation here (My Little Pony: Politics are Magic, anyone?) If she'll be a princess permanently - princess of what, I ask you, since so far every princess in Equestria is a leader/co-leader of some kind of an empire. We have Celestia and Luna ruling Equestria, and Cadance ruling the Crystal Empire. That leaves us with Twilight, what could she rule over? Ponyville? That would be kind of a mean thing to do: "So you want to be a princess of Equestria like I am? Yeah... that position is sort of taken already, but you can be a princess of Ponyville, if you'd like." TL;DR: 1. Having Twilight being a princess removes the whole point of the show and the thing it revolves around: friendship lessons. 2. What would Twilight rule over if she's to stay a princess permanently? 3. Remember the "Crystal Ponies" line of toys and having the Mane 6 be crystal ponies? Was temporary even though people have speculated that Mane 6 becoming Crystal ponies will stay that way. I think it will be the same deal with Twilight, she'll be a princess temporarily, so that selling Princess Twilight Sparkle toys would make sense, just like the Crystal Ponies 4. The writers haven't failed us yet, and all the changes which were forced by Hasbro to sell toys have been implemented into the show almost seamlessly without destroying the show (Twilight's brother, Princess Cadance, Crystal Ponies). So, here's my theory: She goes trough the whole becoming princess thing, experiences what it's like to be a princess, realizes she's separated herself from her friends because of that, decides she doesn't want to be a princess anymore, everyone's happy again.
Necrobump, because I'm curious to see what people think of Twilicorn now that we've seen her in action.
As long as they don't keep up this whole "You're a princess now, act like one." stuff, i think season 4 will be fine.
I really sympathize to Twilight. Because now she is anicorn, she's immortal, but her friends do not. She would have to watch helplessly how everybody whom she loved, will die. Immortality is not a gift is a curse. Say that it's terrible - say nothing. I just broken, because Twilight Sparkle my favorite pony, and I suppose that now we will see Twilight as often as we usually saw Celestia (Very rarely).
As always you find a way to scare me Ridley. All Mane 6 Alicorns dear lord, Moffat's not helping writing is he? Moffat! *shakes fist*
Sooo? it's mean that she's the first mortal alicorn? Or all her friends will turns alicorns? Or Twilight will cease to be a Princess, and will again be a unicorn? (the best way for me)
