My sunday will be spent in heels and a dress. I would be jealous of you if it wasn't for the pancakes. - - Auto Merge - - Wait, it weren't or it wasn't? Grammar police, please save me from my peril!
It's weren't, I think. Also, heels. I don't envy you, even though I don't have any pancakes in my near future.
Eh, I son't pretty up very often. I guess it's about time anyway. At least it's a dress which I like and half the other guests will hate.
I dress up all the time, sorta. I like to wear what some people might call fancy, but to me it's just comfortable. And I like to look pretty. But heels? It's gonna take a lot more than pancakes to get me to wear those. lol What're you up to tomorrow that bribes you with pancakes anyway? Maybe I can sneak in.
It's a confirmation, or konfirmation in Danish. I'm not sure how widespread it is, but here in Denmark, if you're born to christian parents, you will typically get baptised soon after you are born. About 14 years later, you confirm to the church that you still want to be a part of it. The whole thing is potentially silly though, as christian is a very loose word here. Both my parents are officially a part of the Danish church, but don't actually believe in god. When I was a teenager, I thought I was a christian, so I got confirmed as well, but I later opted out of the church. I think the amount of people who believe in god in this country is waaaay smaller that the amount of members of the church. I'm not one to decide whether to call them christian or not, though.
Ah, religious functions. I remember being baptized when I was somewhere in my teens (I forget when... goes to show how much of a Christian I am now, lol), but while it was a major event for the church I as in, it was a small church without a lot of money for fanfare. So we just had a congregation lunch afterward. It wasn't really any more formal than a picnic. I take it you already know how seriously religion is taken on this side of the pond though, so I won't go into that. XD
Yeah, let's not go there XD Anyway, the whole thing starts off with a ceremony in church, and then there's a family/friends party thing that typically has nothing to do with god and everything to do with "becoming an adult" and showering the kid with presents and embarrassing footage and stories. I will now rest my eyes before this ordeal. Goodnight.
Guten nacht, vogel. Eat lots. o/ Meanwhile, the rest of my night will be spent with coffee and power metal. Not so different from a certain other evening, I think.
