What are things like for you In Real Life, do you hide your bronydom? Do you display it proudly, do you have concerns about what people will think of you if you do? Do integrate ponies into your real life in some way?

Basically general discussion about real life off-line bronydom.

Casually Overt would be the best way I can think of to explain it. I have one shirt as of now but the reference is somewhat obscure. Bronies would get it but not the general public. A few people know at work and my brother does (in the process of indoctrinating him).

I guess the bottom line is I don't care if people know or not. I'm not rubbing it in anyone's face but I'm not hiding it either.

I certainly wouldn't mind showing i'm a brony. There's just no particular reason to do so. (Belgium isn't much of a brony country yet as far as i know :p)

I only ever reveal my alias whenever I'm confronted about it. Apart from that, I'm nothing special.

well, I don't have any t-shirts (yet), but I have Spike Highback sock.
also, I'm very open about being brony. I'm not worried what people will think because I'm usually good with words (irl and online), so I can always talk myself out.
Also, reputation of "ferovac" (fer collage student) helps me because it always makes me "the smart one" in the group, so idk, but people accept easier whatever I like. among people of my collage... do I need to say that I'm one that opened MLP:FiM topic on collage forum (where all students come)?
family: let's see: sister is brony, dad is brony (well he just watched few episodes with me and sister, but he likes the show), mom.. she doesn't understand that much english but so she's like meh about it. well she was that way about Chowder until HRT2 started to air Chowder with Croatian subtitles and now it's one of her favorite shows. so I'm waiting for some tv to start air mlp with croatian subtitles.
lot of mlp wallpapers on laptop
derpy hooves is my sms voice on mobile phone
yeah. point is: I keep mlp in my personal space, and if occasion is ok, I share it with my friends, if they want to take it. if not, well ok, don't like the show, it's your own choice.
as for someone calling me gay, not man or something... I never experienced that.
one guy on collage forum did call show itself gay, but after I said that watching the show doesn't make someone gay, he cleared that he thinks that show is gay (as in bad) but not that fans are gay, or has anything against fans. and I'm ok with that. if he doesn't like the show, and thinks it's bad (gay in terms of offense) well, that's his oppinient, but he still doesn't think that people linking the show are gay/bad/neerds...

I wouldn't mind some shirts to wear around, just not at home. My sister would approve, though.

    In real life?
I intend to be very open about my Bronydom... but I haven't seen much oppurtunities to talk about it though.
My family knows, and my friend does too...
Hopefully those in my comp. class know as well, seeing as that I play the music on Youtube while in CTR.
I also post a bit of MLP stuff on facebook... not sure if anypony in IRL has noticed though, as I'm not the most popular or noticeable person in my class by a long shot..
I'm hopefully going to get the EPR shirts when they come out, too. Then I'll wear them all the time.
I'll admit to having concerns over what people will think... but one other reason why I would do anything like this, is because I'm tired of worrying over the opinions of others.
Let them think what they will, about bronydom or anything else. I'll try my best to convert them, but in the end what they decide won't affect me much, though I would be happy to know another brony IRL.
For now, I guess I am between the borders of "closet brony" and "open brony".

I have yet to go out and buy my brony shirt (i have the money, just haven't got out yet) but once i do i plan to wear it proudly. Also i think most of my friends know i'm a brony because of my Facebook pic (My OC :D) so i wouldnt feel awkward about wearing it around them

What is this "real life" you're constantly mentioning? Why haven't I been informed about... "real life"?

Well, today I went to the church and to a restaurant with my Custom Pony T-shirt (Derpy Hooves with a Muffin as background)

Since I got no reactions, I'll keep using it :D

My pony shirt will be here in 9 to 11 days! I'll let you know . . .

Otherwise, I just have a few small things - a Rainbow Dash cutie mark necklace, and Pinkie Pie as my phone's wallpaper. And I say what must be strange things to my co-workers: Okie Dokie Lokie, twenty percent cooler, Eeyup, etc.

But, they knew I was weird to begin with.

    Searching for IRL bronydom...

    One moment please...

    ERROR 404: NOT FOUND

Sorry, but your search for "IRL bronydom" has returned 0 results.

    Try again? Y/N

    Y

    3 result(s) found...

Heh. Sorry, that's the thought that popped into my mind; "IRL bronydom? I don't have that!" Well, it turns out I do slightly, but it's very subtle and only to myself. To answer your questions:

    Do you hide your bronydom?
Pretty much. Although, lately, I've been a little bit more gutsy in the computer lab at my university. While on breaks between classes, if I don't happen to have any homework to do, or if I don't have the desire to work on it at that point in time, I'll play some games and while I do that I'll listen to pony tunes on YouTube. I have earbuds, so no one can hear them, but if someone walks by my computer and sees the YouTube tab open, they'll see the ponies. I haven't had any comments made yet. A part of me, for some reason, wants to be "caught." I just hope if I'm ever "caught," it's a conversation starter, not a "You're a fa**** for liking ponies!" Although, I'd be shocked if the latter happened. The college crowd I'm surrounded by seems to be mature enough to handle ponies.

Do you display it proudly, do you have concerns about what people will think of you if you do?
For now, I kinda still have concerns. I think most of the students are mature enough, but I know all it takes is one of the close-minded individuals to ruin it. So, I don't really display it at all, other than what I said. I'm still pondering— yes, STILL pondering— getting a brony shirt.

Do integrate ponies into your real life in some way?
The only way I do is by bringing the pony tunes with me on the go. I have an mp3 disc I made with about 100 songs on it that I will occasionally listen to in my car. I also have my iPhone with me that has pony songs on it. The other way is when I randomly think about it, but you already knew that from my MLP:FiM On The Brain thread.

    That's about it.
