Guys, we already got a evil-looking, "dark" villain in Nightmare Moon. I'm actually GLAD Discord isn't like that. He seems much more interesting like this. His design is fun, to say the least, and for some reason I love his voice. I'm even more excited now for Season Two! Spoiler: MASSIVE SPOILERS in case anyone reading hasn't actually watched the clip :P I'm intrigued by Discord stealing Fluttershy and Rainbow's wings and Rarity and Twilight's horns. When he said "no magic", suddenly I recalled what the crew have been saying about all types of ponies--not just unicorns--have magic...including earth ponies. Maybe we'll get to see if there's some sort of earth pony magic never before explored in the series? I'm just not sure what exactly earth pony magic is (I do vaguely recall Faust or someone else saying it was a connection with the earth or something like that), or how it would help them...
*comes back hone after a long day at college* OMG!!! SEASON 2 CLIP!!! *watches* .....I'm happy! ^_^ Yeah, Discord wasn't what I thought he'd be. I envisioned him as either an angry, evil character like Nightmare Moon or a chaotic jester-like character who causes discord. I guess I was sorta right. He certainly looks....chaotic...I do like his voice and mannerisms though!
I'm not saying it's bad he turned out this way. I was just saying I was expecting something different. I don't mind if this is the type of villain he is. I like villains. Although he may not be the "dark" kind of villain Nightmare Moon was, that doesn't mean he can't be just as deadly. We'll see. We'll see. I'm still looking forward to seeing more of him.
I see what you did there. Actually I wasn't addressing you. And I agree--I was expecting a different sort of character myself. I'm happy with what we got, though. Speaking of which, I'm kind of relieved he ISN'T a pony, to be honest. ^_^ Pony villains would be cool, but intelligent non-pony creatures make me happy.

Al right, let me say first that I really hope Discord isn't given the NMM treatment and get's defeated by the elements of harmony in the second episode he's in. Because, even after seeing just one clip of him, I really like Discord's personality so much that I hope he's the type of villian that comes back every once in a while to cause trouble to the mane six/Ponyville/Equestria. Not that I would hate the show going back to being slice-of-life episodes like the last season. I'm calling this right now, Discord needs to have a song in his first episode that is done in the style of Scars "Be Prepared" song from The Lion King! Then all Discord would need three bumbling animals of the same type (the Hyenas from the movie) to sort of accompany him at parts. I was actually expecting Discord to be a pony. An Alicorn actually! I think that's why I like the design they gave to him more than I thought I was going to like it, because they decided to shy away from the usual pony design. What's funny, on Ponychan a couple posters said that "waht if Discord isn't a pony, but a Chimera? And look what Discord is! A Chimera! I got to say that's an awesome prediction! I never thought just having this seasons villain actually revealed would get me this pumped for the new season! This is going to be the BEST. SEASON. EVER!
