This was the episode where I realized I'd watched 19 episodes of this show...in my first day. This was the episode where I realized I was laughing an awful lot for someone who was watching a show about ponies (I started watching thinking 'there's no way this is gonna be good, the internet hypes everything'). This was the episode where I said "I freakin' love Rarity". This was the episode where I embraced my newfound love of ponies. This episode is really special to me because it's the one where I finally said "Screw you world I love ponies!"
This harness is too tight! It's going to chafe, can't you loosen it? Ooooooh it hurts and it's soooo rusty! Why didn't you clean it first, it's gonna leave a stain! The wagon's getting heavy, why do i have to pull iiiiit!?
This was the first episode I ever saw. By the end of it I was still on the fence about whether or not the show was really as good as everyone said it was, but the whining scene really helped convince me
I watched this episode the other day and I can't believe it took a second time's viewing to make me realise that the 'cold opening' in this episode is my favourite over the three seasons so far. Also, Rarity's demonstration of whining is brilliant!
This is one of the episodes I really adore (and it's probably the one I've re-watched the most). I love Rarity's performance in this, as well as Spike's. It's also great how dumbfounded the other ponies are when it turns out that Rarity doesn't need saving after all.
If it weren't for The Best Night Ever and Party Of One both being better this would probably be my favorite Season 1 episode also my favorite Mane Six pony was really great in this episode especially during both the whining scene and the he called me ugly part.
