    This one's actually quite tricky. It intercepts any user input to keep them from going through the OS or any antivirus programs to delete it, and also uses trojans to capture video or audio recordings and keystrokes and send the data to gods-know-where. Screws up your registry too so that it can run as soon as your machine boots. Tough to work around.

    Naturally the first thing he told me was he was surfing a porn site. No shock there.

    In other news of me being late to the party, I'm also terribad at fighting games, and would like to add Quest 64 to a pile of good games. @Keldeo, my brother had a virus sort of like what you're describing, but he got his from TPB.

    EDIT: Thought I would just love to brag here saying that I have never had the displeasure of having a virus.

    I spent a fair deal of my weekend on spring cleaning. Granted, I am paying the price for procrastinating on this, but better late than never, I suppose. I still have a way to go, but I have made tremendous progress. I am hoping to finally be finished with my spring cleaning by Tuesday morning at the very latest.

    I am currently taking a break from my cleaning (I was doing it for the past few hours).

    Nah, this variant of the virus runs even in safe mode. Whoever wrote it musta known what they were doing.

    Thankfully though it doesn't in safe mode with command prompt-only. From there I was able to walk him through saving his important files and running a system restore. After that he downloaded a fresh antivirus package. lol

    Good idea, if the system still gets locked down I'd recommend a bootable solution. Those usually will eradicate whatever infection you've got. I use Kaspersky's for emergencies.
