The Secret World Sign-ups

Based on the MMO The Secret World.

There are dark forces even Equestria considers supernatural, but fighting against them are three secret societies. These societies are united in their fight against the darkness, but divided in their timeless pursuit of power. Celestia may be the symbolic ruler of Equestria, but behind the scenes, these societies manipulate everything. They fight these dark forces by aggressively recruiting any pony with unusually powerful inner strength (of any species), and teaching them to channel that strength into certain kinds of tools. However, a new threat is coming that will threaten all of Equestria. Your OCs are members of these societies, and must defeat this threat by any means necessary.


Factions
Your character doesn’t have to agree completely with the core philosophy, but they must be willing to contribute towards it in their own way. You can be independent, but the societies are very aggressive in their recruiting and reluctant to let anyone leave, so you must have some reason why they were either let go (without being killed) or why they were never noticed in the first place.

Also, I’m not yet sure how much the Equestria factions will mirror the history of the MMO factions, but additional details about each faction can be provided upon request.

Weapons/Tools
Each character is allowed up to 2 weapons or tools that they can channel their power into, but the act of channeling this power tires that character out. The safest way to make sure I’ll approve them is to either pick a weapon or tool that is generally accepted to exist in Equestria but is somehow enhanced when channeling energy, or a weapon or tool that generally isn’t accepted to exist in Equestria (like firearms) but whose existence becomes possible through the channeling of energy. So you are allowed to have guns, but the ammunition comes from channeled energy and every shot exhausts the user a bit more.

Also, if you wish, you may research the weapons available in The Secret World and use them, so long as it is understood that all weapons in the Ranged category will be far more limited in this RP than in the game.

Appearance: Will has a deep-red coat, an average colored blue mane & tail that are very wild messy, & all over the place, & his eyes are a yellow-green mix.
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: a rolled out blueprint, along side 3 rolled up blueprints./Building machines out of scratch with tools, materials, & an idea.
Weapon/tool (up to 2): The CoW (Climber of walls, a hidden blade-like weapon he made that assists greatly in wall climbing), a falchion that is sharpened most at the convex
Personality (optional, but encouraged):talks to himself all the time, doesn't associate himself with others to commonly, likes to hit solid objects for the sake of hitting it, & is often believed to be crazy.

Personality:he is a kind pony who always cares for the ponies less fortunate and wealthy than him.
Other info: comes from a rich family as he was in line to be the earl of loxley.

 

Name: Snow Rena Mark

Species: Unicorn
Faction: Independant(no faction has yet won her over due to her ideals)
Appearance: A slightly smaller than average build than most ponies, has a white coat, sky blue eyes, and a spiky blond mane made to be appropriate for formal and informal
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: a question mark/Use and mastery of a special, powerful, voitile form of magic called Essence magic
Weapon/tool: EPCS-33 (concentrates the power of the essence into a spell that can be used to either enhance regular spells or unleash a deadly blast of magic that incinerates anything it touches, looks like just a hoof-worn band)
Personality: Kind, loyal, protective, and friendly
Background: Snow has always busied herself in her work with Mark Co, taking it from just another company to the largest, richest, and most powerful corporation in all of Equestria, which would have made her ideal for a high place in the Illuminati, but she refused to follow them, believing the best way to build and rule the world is from the ground up, not obtaining maximum power. Ironically, her essence weaponry that was developed by the secret arms division of Mark Co are the most powerful and dangerous in the world, all of which are protected by multiple layers of protection in an unknown location. However, though Snow wishes nothing to do with the societies, she still deals with them in providing supplies and weaponry(however, her essence weapons are very rarely involved) and also fending off the attempts to recruit her.
Other details: Snow is highly intelligent and a masterful liar, along with several aspects that make her the perfect CEO, and more importantly, a source of immense power and influence. However, despite all the good in her, she has her darker side, from bribing officials to turn a blind eye to Mark Co or even accidentally killing her parents. This is not a mare to trifle with. She worked to build her status and power over many years, and she isn't about to let it go or give it to some society easily.

(Don't worry, I've already discussed the whole thing with iSmartMan, hell, if it wasn't for us talking about Snow's place in all of this, this rp wouldn't exist)

Species: Pegasus
Faction: Dragon
Appearance: Neon blue everything. (eyes, mane, tail, coat) wears a dark blue suit (meaning tie and junk etc.) which generates electricity.
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: a blue bolt of lightning, electronics
Weapon/tool (up to 2): electro suit - Channels energy into a controllable electric from, which he uses in a whip-like fashion.
Personality (optional, but encouraged): hyper, bright, energetic, probably insane.
Background (optional for all non-independents, but still encouraged): Born on the day Discord broke free. Long story short, he's always been the definition of chaos. breaking things, being incredibly random, etc. etc. etc. His personality and his skills are uncontrollable and dangerous. The dragon took him, to control his chaos.
Other details: Easy to manipulate, if you can find some way to talk to him.

Hmm...Dreamer, Kleft, those powers seem a bit extreme, but perhaps you two could be some kind of team that pools your powers together...

And Robin, nobility and self-righteousness would be much more in line with the Templars than the Illuminati

I actually really like that idea, Dreamer. You generate it, he controls it, and the end result is something much more sophisticated than one could pull off with an Elemental Focus.

Cutie Mark/Special Talent: Puzzle piece, solving mysteries and basically "putting the pieces together"
Weapon/tool (up to 2): Elemental Focus (basically lets him cast lightning bolts, fireballs, etc., but is very power-intensive), small dagger he can channel energy into to make it longer and sharper
Personality (optional, but encouraged): Cold, focused, subtle, and logical, but is constantly fascinated with how often logic and morality can lead to the same conclusion.
Background (optional for all non-independents, but still encouraged): Was recruited by the Illuminati in his early 20s, had actually noticed the recruiters before they found him, abducted their leader, and...coerced him into revealing why they were there. The methods he employed did not include any kind of physical harm, and his talents were considered effective enough to allow him to skip the usual initiation. Has proven an invaluable contributor in the gathering and interpreting of information due to his talents and his mantra of "Knowledge is Power". Has complete access (though closely monitored) to the archives and information gathered by the Illuminati, and though some of the information he has requested has been rather suspicious in its irrelevancy to his activities, it has never been enough for him to be implicated in anything specific.
