Yeah, been running it since... December? Winning gets you a custom emote on the forums as a bonus prize now. It's under the Contests subforum.
It's not an event, but I've pre-registered for Everfree Northwest. Thinking about e-mailing them to see if they would be cool with me recording some footage there. Will need to see if I can do it all live, or if it will be recorded during the day and then uploaded at night. I'm really hoping to get some footage though of a pony convention, as I think this could potentially boost views on the radio.
I'm a pretty neutral guy when it comes to stuff like this, and I think the site is heading in a good direction. Not that it couldn't use help and new ideas every now and again, but there you go. I think people tend to complain about the inactivity of the site while not really doing anything to help (it happens on many forums); if I haven't posted frequently in the different sections I won't complain about inactivity in those sections. Who keeps the site active? We do. Surprise! All-in-good-fun sarcasm aside, I really must say that I feel there have been a lot of changes since I joined and I don't dislike the way the site has headed. If I were to contrast where we are with where we were, say a year ago, I would say that things are very different. There seems to be a bit of a turnover in users, meaning the newbies have become the oldies and that's alright by me! It's actually a good thing in some ways. It's especially evident with our some of new moderators ("new" being a relative term), and for that reason I have a lot of confidence in them. Now, to get less specific: I like pretty much everybody here, as they all seem to have similar goals and interests in mind. We're mostly all quite similar in very apparent ways, and so it would make sense if we could come together and regulate Everypony cohesively. But there needs to be a certain sense of willingness from all parties for that sort of en masse decision-making to go on, and I'm not quite sure we have it all together. Communication is usually key, but anybody and everybody could stand to weather a little more criticism and exude a bit less seriousness from time to time. Maturity is about respect and understanding, not dramatization. Keep in mind, this isn't directed at any one member or group of members, but is a larger over-arching assessment of the community as seen through the lens of Dilly Star's mind. I hold myself as no exception. However, don't get down about that! There are some good things going on here, and all it takes is the right perspective to appreciate them. Ever since I became a member Everypony has felt like an open, welcoming place. This site has a lot of strengths that other websites do not. This is a pretty cool community where the moderators actually care enough to modify the rules and appearance for the comfort of the users, on occasion. This is a cool place. I would like to say one more thing here. In the Site Discussion area, I think no topic should be off-limits. As long as it can be discussed and addressed, any subject matter should have the potential to be brought up in context. I agree. If people post here about a problem, they should articulate what it is.
