Mateus, if you're lonely, I can probably convince the dude to let you join us. You know, if you ever stop by. Wink wink, nudge nudge, suggestive smiley face.
A tempting offer. Suggestive smile. Winking face. Har har. For those wondering about my thread I made almost 2 years ago, here it is. If it looks like it can be revived, I'll move it to Serious Discussion.
Oh awesome there is a gay thread xD Well this is probably the place for me then ... anyway, so the whole Bi vs Pan discussion: My 2 cents are sort of anecdotal, but basically I think it's all about self-identification. There is no concrete and universal definition of what it means to be Bisexual, Pansexual, or honestly any of the other non-absolute terms. The only things that are pretty well defined are 100% gay or 100% straight, and even then that's if you are cisgender and normative yourself. (identify as "male" or "female" and nothing between or outside of) I have gone through so many changes in how I identify that I've just accepted that whether or not who i really am was fixed somewhere inside me all along, the labels change all the time and are just used as a reference at best. When I was younger I considered myself asexual because I was happy being a loner, but then I had a girlfriend for a bit and thought I was straight... and then i "came out" as gay and met my current boyfriend... and then many years later I just decide to identify as Bi. I know people of all labels and many that have changed - the only universal thing is it's complicated.
I saw this on my facebook news feed a short while ago that the Eurovision Song Contest is being pressured into censoring an on-air kiss between the Krista, Finland's entry in the competition, and one of her dancers. Turkey have already confirmed they will not broadcast the show live on Saturday if the kiss is aired. Stand-up for equality and don't let Eurovision bow down and appease these homophobes. 5,000 signatures are needed, almost 3,000 have already signed including myself. Make your signature count. The kiss must go on! https://www.allout.o...ions/eurovision
Yea sure whatever Minnesota - sincerely Massachusetts (almost 10 years of marriage equality) lol, but really I'm glad the numbers are growing; 3 new states in only 2 weeks!
I'm glad to hear that too! 'Murica is rising in my standards! ~Belgium, just over 10 years of human equality. PS. Bisexual here. No, that doesn't mean I like everyone I see.
My state proudly has the church pastor who told everyone to beat your kids to get the gay out of them....yeah, I don't think marriage equality will be easily achievable here. North Carolina, you suck.
I might as well just admit to myself that I basically live in this thread by now. I'm not sure this will help even if the goal is reached, but I signed and shared anyway. Keep in mind that in Russia (and probably several east-european countries as well) this kind of thing is illegal to show on TV. But hey, one can hope. - - Auto Merge - - And go, America! You guys are moving in the right direction with a fast pace. I won't say we have equality here. We have marriage equality, but you can't donate blood as a man if you have "been" with another man within the last month. Which is obviously a rule left from the 80's HIV craze, and it needs to be removed.
Yes, we do. And we're getting suckier by the day thanks to those jerks in Raleigh. And I know why they're doing it too. Before they got elected in 2010, the Republicans hadn't had control of our state for more than 100 years, so I'm convinced that they know their days in power are numbered and they're intentionally trying to do as much damage as they possibly can so that when the Democrats take the state back in 2014 (I hope), they'll have to spend so much time fixing what the Republicans did that they won't be able to get any new business done. Is it wrong for me to wish that the federal government would come in and shut them down?
On a lighter note; The majority of Americans were in favor of same-sex marriage back in 2012, but it's now a full year of being above that mark. http://www.gallup.com/poll/162398/sex-marriage-support-solidifies-above.aspx For anyone that still despairs or is close to loosing hope, just remember the trend is constantly going upward, and equality is inevitable at this rate.
We have a long way to go when it comes to LGBT rights, but we are headed in the right direction. Twelve states in the USA have now recognized same-sex marriage, and my home state of Minnesota became #12 last Monday. As a bisexual male, I am quite pleased with this development.
For anyone wondering how this all went down: The kiss was there. It was shorter than the one in the semi-finals, but it was there. Two men also kissed on stage later in the obligatory Sweden-is-awesome song, pretty much to say "Hey, gay marriage is okay by our books". Skip to 6:05 if you don't care about the rest of the song.
Sex marriage should be legal everywhere! It's sad that in some countries homosexuality is against the law and punishable by death. This world needs a change.
I noticed something earlier. Bisexuallity is a trend in my school. I find it wrong, personally. It being a trend, that is.
