That's why it's called fanon. It's the fans canon, don't try to go against it. Fanon is serious business.
Yeah and I think the main reason that everybody excepts those two fanons and applies them to Lyra and Derpy repectively is because everyone likes those ideas.
*Ahem* Obviously not, though. People have expressed disdain for the fanon revolving around background ponies repeatedly on this site. Did you not read Narrow's posts? But anyway, back on topic. I find it funny that they chose to go with the colours if the ponies' coats as skin colour. That's one way to avoid outrage regarding race (although I have still seen some).

I'd like her if she was left alone as Ditzy Doo and wasn't some awful collective brony OC. Lyra is the same thing, the idea of her liking and being obsessed with humans beyond annoying.

See that picture? That picture perfectly implies 2 things. 1. Lyra wants to be a human and is therefore obsessed with wearing pants, and 2. Lyra and BonBon are either a) Dating or b) really, really close friends. If you didn't get those two things from that picture, then you probably don't have an extremely fanatic and/or overactive imagination. That or your fanon fodder function is broken. I actuall didn't even realize this thread was about EqG when I first came in here. Since, you know, we're talking about Lyra and stuff. So I vote everybody just posts EqG related comics. Since nothing productive has been accomplished in this thread since about page 15. ...or not. You know, whatever.
That's one of the things I've been doing. I find a comic or pic inspired by EqG and drop it right here. I'm looking a lot for pieces showcasing Lyra's reaction, but then again, she IS my favorite background pony. (technically co-favorite, she is a heated tie with Derpy)
My favorite is Derpy background pony but Vinyl is tied for second favorite with Octavia i'm just saying.
I guess the movie must've came out, because there has been a significant increase in the number of EqG memes out there, and they seem very scene specific. Anywho... lulz
