Okay, someone give this person a medal, he deserves it. Seriously, you are so freaking right about that.
I generally classify a "brony" as a person (male or female) that is older than the targeted viewing audience(little girls, though the makers of MLP:FiM do put little references in the show for the older viewers) that enjoys watching MLP:FiM. I don't believe you have to follow the teachings of the show or the idea of tolerating, loving, and accepting everyone to be a brony(but the world would probably be a better, more peaceful place if people did). And to expand on the tolerate, love, accept point, you have to use common sense with this because not everyone is going to be a "good person" that will help you; In fact, there are lots of people who would rather do you harm than good but, if you have a good sense of common sense, you shouldn't have to worry about it too much.
I'd say a true brony doesn't have to have every little detail of the show memorized, but they should at least know the main 6 and the other very important characters. They should know a little bit about the show but most importantly be a part of the fandom. That's what makes you a brony. And you should have to be very accepting of others and nice to everyone. That is the brony code
Only watch MLP videos on youtube. On deviant art all day also. Has a hit list for haters. Owns a lifesized plushie. Can name every character (including random background) of the top of their heads. Only shops on WeLoveFine (#Plug). Goes on a tour across the America to every brony convention. Has a wall of posters that are every VA from the show.
I think a 'true' brony pays no mind to the b****ing about every little aspect of the show and simply enjoys it for what it is.
I have my own definition of what a Brony is. A Brony is: - A Person who watches and actually likes the show. (Never got into it because of a bandwagon mentality) - Contributes any kind of content to the fandom. - Follows the virtues of Love and Tolerance when needed or wanted.* - Not fazed by what the label brings to him. * - Take for example the S3 Premiere. Did Celestia/Main Six Loved and Tolerated the Changling Invasion or Queen chrissy? Or the first ep where Discord appeared? Did the Main Six simply sat there loving and tolerating his shenanigans?
Hm, the main problem i see in this "title" for some people is: The more merch you have and the more time you spend with fandom and other bronies the more you think you are "more brony" then others, declaring others are less brony then you and therefore not a true brony. I think in general everyone who likes MLP related things and enjoys them regular is a brony, it even hasn't to be the show. Maybe its just the music, the fanfics or the artwork or merch. In specific i say: I'm a brony, but i give a **** about titles. Everypony whos kind and friendly can stay with me or other bronies as long he hasnt a problem with our liking, there is no fixed group thinking like "if you don't like this, you don't belong to here". I even accept "non brony" people visiting places usually only bronies go if they are nice and just want to have fun like us, for example brony-forums, meetups or even conventions.
