I don't really bring it up often; it isn't usually relevant. But when it is, I don't "deal with it." It's everybody else that has to deal with it. Of course they have the right to judge you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. They just don't have the right to harass you. That's the way!
The thing is I dont love and tolerate I tell them straight out only if they bring it up and ask me but I don't go blabbing it around the world and for the family I don't talk about it at all but my mother knows and she is cool. sent from my Nexus 4 in Equestria Click it I dare you? I don't deal with it, I'm really open about it. I've been a pegasister for about a year and 2 months, and I'm used to it by now. I even got a male and female friend to watch it. Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk HD
I want to ask what you all do when you get a negative reaction to people finding out you are a brony? Recently, my close friend and roommate found out that I like the show. He immediately got angry with me and started accusing me of being a pedophile, just because I watch MLP and to him that is not "normal." I anticipated some negative feedback to my liking the show, but nothing that fierce. He even threatened to call the police on me and to beat me up because of his suspicions. I've forgiven him, but it still has affected me. I guess it juzt hurts to think that after five years of loyal friendship that he would have so little faith in me that he would so quickly assume the worst and not even try to understand my side of the argument. I am still going to continue to watch MLP and enjoy it, but I am going to have to keep it secret from him. I'm not sure if this is the proper place to make this post, but I really needed to get it off my chest in a more welcoming and understanding environment. Thank you for hearing me out. It is really comforting to know that there are people out there that are understanding.
Why assume it's a dark secret? People like a cartoon. Why should others care? While it isn't as accepted as, say, American Football is in the USA, it is no worse than being a Star Trek fan, and they don't have to "come out of the closet" or worry about their "trek showing." Hence, I don't care one bit if people know I am a brony or not. - - Auto Merge - - Sorry for the double-post, but your "friend" needs to be avoided. That isn't a normal response by ANY stretch of the imagination.
I was afraid of that. I guess that means his condition isn't in as good control as I thought. All I can do at this point is to try and avoid setting him off. Let's hope I can get out of the funk this recent outburst has put me in so I can resume work on my MLP story. It was going pretty good until the creative mood killer.
ME : I like Ponies. THEM : Why? ME : I just do. Why? Don't like it? THEM : A bit. Why? ME : Nice knowing you. *Leaves* I'm basically that. If you cant accept what I dis/like, my hobbies, etc, then you're not worth my time. Luckily, no one cared when I told my friends. xD
