Regardless of what changes need to be made to the staff, I disagree with the sentiment that users cannot independently to effect changes here at Everypony. It's hardly an issue that would be solved solely by the change in leadership, nor does the aforementioned process of selecting new and trimming old staff seem to be one that would inhibit contributions by users to keep Everypony running. I have little information on the current state of our staff beyond the opinions/updates given by other members and thus no opinion on what trimming or electing must be done; I look to do what I can elsewhere.
My favorite part of this thread is all the people showing up to post that post maybe once every 3 weeks in the forum. Funny how this type of thread always brings them out, wonder why that is.
I'm thinking more like bugs to a zapper because this thread will go like the rest. It's a bunch of big talk to bring EP back up but everyone will drop it in a week or so.
What's the point of these threads? They just cause ModDrama, and ModDrama causes MemberDrama. We need more events and such if we want to "Rejuvenate" Everypony.
People create these threads hoping someone will come forth with that magic solution, and when people give magic solutions, the people in charge are biased against said solutions because of the people who say said solutions. Just the way it works right now. They'd do more events if more people actually participated. I doubt many of you know that Karaoke Night is probably cancelled due to the severe lack of entries. Bingo. Sadly, those who would take action either are too isolated (In the sense that they are a minority when it comes to things) or are pretty much silenced due to either the nature of the post or their history. This fear of action leads to inaction and laziness, which is... well, unfortunate, but sadly unavoidable. Hopefully things can change someday.
I'm looking back on the older pages of this thread. Staff replacement? Who the hell other than former staff could we really promote? We should promote people who are actually on the site more than once a month.
The inactive Frenzyhero says without wanting to read 5 pages of melodrama... The problem I see when I contrast this forum to other, more successful forums is that there is a lot of tension between both moderators and the members (which both parties also have tension within themselves, also). Look at this thread and you'll immediately see what I mean, if you don't then look at yourself, you're apart of the problem. At this forum, I always considered myself a 3rd party, since I don't know but a few of you, I (hopefully) can look at just what you present and judge off of that. I know I am contradicting myself here, but do not, I repeat, do not be hostile in public. That puts off newer users and without them, the site will become bland. I'm sure you all know that when a forum becomes that way, users start leaving and going to sub-par forums like (ugh) Canterlot.com. All in all, the site itself is okay. It doesn't need a shout-box, it doesn't need any more little gadgets and gizmos, it needs a different mindset. Members need to be more active if they want the site to change. Personally, I think this is a bad time to do this what with the 'cons coming up, as most of the important staff will be occupied. tl;dr: The site is dying a slow and painful death and it can only be saved if you actually care. Post more. Oh, and I know I'm rather contradicting, I don't need you to point that out.
People do need a better mindset, and to post more, that's a big problem for me, since I'm on the radio a lot. I feel like we have a lot more chat people than forums people. Let us all post more! Attention is gained that way too~

I real like this site and I really like all of you guys! We need to advertise, for it to last. Get some exclusive content. Get some famous bronies. Most of all we need to show three things, we are dedicated to mlp, positive, and tolerating of all people.
I have to ask if you had realized that this is the kinda thing that I was talking about. Bringing private matters out into the open. That sort should be left to pm. Maybe a solution is to remove the chat room and radio. This is a forum, after all, and the boards are supposed to be the highlight of the site. Personally, I like the chat, but if it leaves, then big deal, I have other chat rooms, but it might pull our chat users onto the boards where they're supposed to be anyway. This may not be the best solution, but hey, it's a suggestion. I don't know how to do that funny @mention thing, so blegh.

He said he left? I thought he just said that he wasn't going to look at EP nearly as much as before, huh. Still, he's a member here, so his opinion still counts. I like everyone too, it's just hard for advertising at the moment, because eight isn't here, so we don't really have the "boss" around here to confirm that what we're doing is okay. Also, being positive and tolerant is something everyone has to do, and frankly it's hard to tolerate everything that life throws at people. Also, that's why I wanted live feed of the forums on the radio page, so people will be able to keep up with it while listening to tunes. (I'm also sure that others don't want to lose their DJing spots/chat modding, they still provide a lot of input.)
This is a problem right now. An admin would be nice right now. Why? What for? This does not have to do with stress. At all.
Not sure about anyone else, but I feel very uncomfortable here these days. I feel like no matter what I post, I have to prepare to defend myself and it's not worth it most of the time. Since I have no friends here, I oftentimes find myself getting ganged-up on as well. Other times I have no idea what anyone is talking about and can't find a single thing to say to contribute so I just leave. I lurk for a few hours a day with an occasional post.
