No. Just stop. Illusions? Who one really is? This is a forum, not a social network. "Faint of heart"? More melodramatic bullcrap. This is just a forum. SunBurn, just calm down. This is not some sort of dramatic play. It's just a forum. We're talking about ways to "Rejuvinate" Everypony.
Your attitude is the one that prevents that from happening. The only thing worse than a warm atmosphere that is artificial and false is an atmosphere where nobody tried.
I try time and time again because the only certain way nothing will happen is if nothing is done. I refuse to give up on this site. I refuse to give up on the staff because I know that there are some in there that ARE willing to listen, but their voices aren't heard because of people like you. So why are you even in this thread if you can't offer solutions? If you want to complain, go to Rarit's thread. This thread is for ideas and suggestions, not petty crap and rivalries.
I don't know about anyone else but I think a little insanity is what helped me run this place. As long as someone's willing to try, there's no reason to stop them except your own insecurities. Besides, where's the fun in making sense?
That's the problem. Your job is tech administrator. Leave the RP section to the RP mods. Same message to Eight Star.
Sounds interesting. As long as it's within rules and yadda yadda, I'd like to take a look. No, no, no. My point is to be active and do stuff that peeps might like, not undermine the RP Mods. I'm doing it because I like RP and have been sitting on this one idea for a long while. I can easily manage both as long as I do my chores and brush my tails like a good cub. Activity and action is key, m'boy!
Tyro, while being a tech admin, is still a user, also. It's not like the mods and admins can only be moderating. They have to be a part of the community also.
I recall some unfinished forum skins are gathering dust right now. People have been asking about those. How far along are you getting that new ban system and probation usergroup going? Hasn't been discussed at all in nearly two weeks last time i checked. Helping with roleplays is all good and well as long as your primary duties don't suffer because of it. You may have been an RP moderator, and you might be very good at it, but if you want to run this forum as an admin, you should get to know your admin panel instead of relying on Mike half the time while you're focussing on the roleplay section. I hope you understand what i'm saying here. I'm not against you. I just want you to realize there's far more to your job now than just roleplaying. I recall a time when Grey said he was busy almost every day. Even when he had nothing to do, his mind was always on what he could be doing to improve the place and maintain it. He was running the entire forums instead of just the RP section.
Hey Tyro, it's good to see you posting here. SunBurn, I really do want to know what is possessing you to act this way. If it's really all so futile and hopeless, why bother? Why are you here, except to be the White Knight Herald of our folly? I'm sorry if you no longer appreciate the atmosphere/dynamic here at Everypony. That's a pity, but why ruin it for everyone else? If other people are having fun and creating a safe and comfortable environment for themselves, there's no need to rush in an warn them of their impending doom. There is none. As far as that goes, nothing is inevitable here.
On it! Let me just rejigger the groups, investigate the possibility of a shout box, think about where the chat button could be better situated (if at all), check to see if you can integrate forums and the chat without it all exploding and wonder about a forum feed on the radio. Oh, and spoilers for a Community Post in the near future; Probation Users and Categories for the Groups. When we've figured a decent rule set for the tools we've come up with, we'll give you a holler. For now, there's a heads up.
What's even the point of this thread again? Ideas or some crap? I think we should get the fact that old EP is no better than new EP into the older member's heads.
There will always be people like that, SunBurn. You act like you can change the site, but you really can't. One person can't change an entire website. It takes multiple people, teamwork, and whatnot.
While this is true, it has to be said that such an attitude didn't really do my health any good, in actual fact it's probably what originally drove me to 'retire'. I would've left anyway, my interest in MLP is non-existent these days, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as soon. I DO think it's important to try your very best and do above and beyond what is expected of you - just don't stay up till 3-5AM five nights a week designing themes and brainstorming new features.
I appreciate that. Yeah, there's a difference between working hard and burning yourself out, and it can sometimes be hard to strike a balance with the former.
