Ah, that was me. I stayed up with Mike throughout the night so I could get out updates on our Facebook and Tumblr regarding everything that transpired. I'm happy to see that our social media helped keep everypony aware of what was happening. Thank you Mike and Ghan for preventing further damage to the site, and having it up and running in such a timely manner.
No, we have a few users who would become dead in the water without a proxy. We have done something to registration for now though.
I think I may have been the only one who spent noon to the next morning waiting for the site to boot up again. All I did was inform some sites in case he wished for more "fun". Oh well, I'm not too bothered. Now that's the first time I've seen that post, it won't be staying around, even with a different IP signature and user.
this site got compromised the same day yahoo or something else i use was down with the same problem thats freaky but im glad my little ponies are back online. anyhoo virus... i use linux that feel when you laugh at how a web virus doesn't stay on your machine after clearing cookies, etc and closing your browser ok so im pretty decently protected from most windows threats but i hope noone else got infected. did anyone remember to submit this virus to their antivirus provider so they can add it to the database?
So, to end the thread, we're going to start taking bets... I'll say that he'll end on Crasher 9. What 'bout you guys?
Crasher will definitely be back, but I'm sure that he/she will wait a few months, until people have forgotten about him/her.
Soooo... That's what it was. Mike, Savior of our internet, let me preach you my biggest thanks. I had almost played the game if the site wouldn't have closed unexpectedly, mentioning ''security breach''. You're my hero from now on!
