Now It seems like the fandom generally hates Spike... Like when I see, well just about anything about him it usually follows some kind of spike abuse, or just pure hatred towards him and his episodes. Now I love Spike, he's pretty much my favorite character. Because he's funny, he's a very well written character with many flaws making him realistic. And i like his episodes. So is it just me?
The only Spike episode I liked was when he was taking care of everyone's pets. Spike at Your Service and a Dog and Pony Show are some of my least favorite episodes (Okay, Rarity had her moments in that episode but Spike's role ruined it for me)

idk why people hate spike. Spike is really cool character for me, and his episodes are awesome. Also, in EqG, he was my favorite character.
I never really see any hate for Spike himself, just his episodes. I also agree with Yeti. Spike was really good in Equestria Girls. Less than 2 weeks for Blu-ray release.
I don't know I feel like there are worse episodes than spike at your service. Like when they are trying to fake the timber wolf. That made me laugh. I've seen some pretty boring episodes and I don't think they're spikes.
I like Spike alot he'd probably be my favorite male character if Shining Armor and Discord weren't both better male characters than Spike.

I think that's fine. He is twilights assistant. But i still feel likes he's important. As shown in the crystal empire part 2
Yeah guess so, being the only assistant to one of, if not the most important character in the show is pretty relevant
Spike is good as a background, when things orbit around them they fall flat. As a support he can hold his own and other characters pretty well off, when he's what's being supported, well, it's kinda bad.
i just wanna say that. spike is one of the most awesome dragons out there. so very few dragons ever turn out to be decent characters (double entandra not intended but is a good one) i want more spike episodes and put one in season 4 where he actually goes off on a date with rarity at the end and before you say it. spike has been a baby dragon for more than a few years now technically after all dragons age much slower than human or even us equines. it will be a good 20 or 30 years before he reaches full size and all that so no he isn't to young for rarity he is just at the youngest age that could be acceptable to be out there dating and at the very least even if it wasn't an actual date they could atleast hang out and become better friends during an episode or something
Spike needs to keep his grubby little claws away from Rarity. He should stay in the background. His character is not good enough to carry entire episodes in my opinion. This has been evidenced by the episodes he has been the focal point of. He has had enough chances to prove himself as able to carry and episode. He failed. Repeatedly. I don't hate him, I hate that he takes screen time away from other characters.
