So anyway, I think this thread isn't gay enough; so here's some fitting drunk kitchen: I made rainbow cupcakes once, it was awesome... and they are surprisingly easy as long as you are patient and have a ton of containers to put the different colored mix into
Wow, that was pretty good. I mean, every news source is biased in some way or another, but this gives it some cred. This pope sees no barriers, just the light of God as he puts it. I wish that were the case elsewhere (*cough cough-America-cough*). As long as those priests don't hurt anyone and just do their job, it's okay, right? Although, I thought he felt that way about everyone because he seems like such a nice dude.
I'm not catholic, but I gotta say this is definitely my favourite pope so far; Not just for the gay thing, but he just seems like an all around chill guy - very much in line with at least the spirit of early christianity.
[insert joke about the spirit of early Christianity being Judaism here] I heard about and approve of this.
Soundbite propaganda; this is just him saying that he's okay with gay priests as long as they're celibate. He still considers homosexuality to be a choice and a sin, and doesn't want them to Lobby for their own purposes. The pope is just changing the church's wording, which, mind you, is a good thing, but still disapproving of gays. Just worded 'nicer' than usual. I'm just not convinced.
Oh of course, I think anyone would be foolish to think that just because he's not being a total dick about things that means he's not still the ultimate head of a very strict religion, short of god himself. I'm just glad he's promoting tolerance of others; It might not be full acceptance, but it's a step in the right direction. The gay rights issue aside; I'm glad he's also trying to re-emphasize that catholics should have a responsibility to the poor and be using christianity for good deeds rather than focusing on the bad... the overall message of this new pope is just a drastic departure from Pope Benedict's vision.
Glad to see this thread. As far as what upsets me, it's Mother Russia and Putin. I lost all respect for him.
Yea, It's really disappointing to see the christian right asserting itself so much more aggressively in Russian politics lately :/ I know the russian people want nothing more than to forget the awful atrocities of the old soviet leadership, but there were a few things the USSR did right; namely civil rights for minorities and women and I hope that this attempt at emulating the west doesn't mean they are going to repeat all of our western mistakes too.
I'm not offended, but I do have a...personal grudge with a gay ex bestfriend. Long story short, he was a total jerk, and told me to go kill myself. As for the rights issue, I have no opinion, seeing as it does not affect me. I only have opinions on a topic that does reach my concern like animal rights and women's rights.
Oh hey, this exists. Good. I'm a little confused as to my sexuality, honestly. I thought I was Pansexual, and I still feel sexual attraction, but I don't know if having sex is something I really wanna ever actually do.
I meant that if people have a voice to speak, then they should speak, as long as it's constructive. As I said, I don't have an opinion as it doesn't affect me personally. If I am LGBT, then I would fight. I don't get into fights that do not involve how my life rolls around. What I'm trying to say is, it's not my business to judge who people should love. That's what I mean. - - Auto Merge - - Animals can't do anything. We take their homes, offspring, and their life. They can't write a law that forbids cutting down trees like we can. So I am a voice for those without a voice. Sorry about the double post. :/
