As I recently found out; there's a possibility for a channel to be created on the chat and only appear to a person added to the group on the forums. Therefore I thought this may be an opportunity better suited than what was just implemented, which was the normal RP channel to be for Seniors, seniors may also allow be able to allow anyone in, and basically ask them to leave if their quality of RP is too low.

My suggestion was that instead of this, a group should be created and a private channel on the chat too.
The reasoning on this is for people who want to Roleplay at a high standard, it'll also save people getting rejected for asking to Roleplay, or roleplaying and getting turned down midway.

My thoughts for access to it is some if they're not RPing to just scout about. I would be willing to do so. I love seeing roleplay improving. But recently I've seen it stuck at an all time low on the chat. People scout about, make a thread on the forums about it, majority agrees or disagrees, they get rejected/added without knowing. So it saves people ending on bitter terms.

If you want me to rephrase anything or elaborate on it, then I'll happily do so.
I'd love both staff and public views and opinions on this.

    Thank you for reading this.

I don't think there is any need to make a new 'private' channel; just make the normal roleplay chat the serious one and the one where the people who just don't care can be where the Casual Roleplay is.

It's pretty simple to do that. I don't see much point in having another channel when one can be adjusted to fit the chat's needs.

It's but one channel, which doesn't make much ot a difference. It's just the fact that's been done and the newbies for RPers are complaining because they're RP quality isn't approved of. They're complaining and arguing constantly with the members wanting restrictions/rules. And being aggressive with them. This was the main reason a private channel would be good to avoid the bitter ends. And mods were off the whole time it was going down.

I am one of those users who witnessed all the stuff going on when mods were out, and the 'newbes' to roleplay, don't want to accept change, they don't want to be better because they are either too stubborn or don't give a hay. The idea of the Private channel sounds GREAT! There would be hugely less arguments... but there is also not too many serious Roleplayers, and a flock of new annoying newbes...

Can I please get unbanned from the chat servers? All I did was make a story in a somewhat sassy fashion, and I wasn't even there to hear the rules for the roleplay session I ended up getting banned in. Doesn't seem fair to me.

May I get staff opinions on this and a few more member ones? Because it seems that this was made without a point, then.

I'd be more than glad to see some more opinions.

Good luck getting any staff reactions dudebro. It seems they aren't paying much attention in the first place.

Thinking/Mulling over this for a while, I support it. It couldn't hurt, at least I don't think so.

Why don't you stay on topic yourself and give us your own opinion?

What do the RP mods have to say on the subject?

It's your job to have an opinion on matters like this, especially when the community itself is asking for/about it.

Dude, it's not his job to have an opinion on every little thing said on the forums. It IS his job to protect the people on these forums. It IS his job to improve and make this a nice place to be. To put words into his mouth is just wrong. He is NOT saying he doesn't care about this forum. Actually it's quite the opposite. I'm sorry you don't see it that way. On another note, he isn't ignoring anything you or anyone else has said. He has actually taken a lot of it to heart.

As for the 'We'll look into it' bit. That doesn't actually mean he has an opinion on the matter. That only means bringing it up with other mods and admins. Which can simply be directed here. He never said he WOULD NOT be doing that. I've watched you ream Eight for quite some time and it's rather upsetting. You are bringing negativity where there is none.

As for your comment on the "You're an administrator. Step up and do your job." You obviously have no clue what he does. You only think you do. So let me fill you in a little bit. He took hours out of a vacation he took with his family and friends to pass out flyers at a convention for this forum. HOURS AND HOURS of time that he could have been spending at panels at BronyCon or spending with friends and family. He passed out over 300+ flyers! Also, on the daily he is on here trying to improve the site. Making sure everything is running smoothly. Not minutes, HOURS out of his day.. each and every single day. Just to make it clear to you, he has a personal life. He takes time out of it to be here! So I hope you think before you say something like that again.

Oi! Easy there, matey! Cool your flaps. Drink a Cools Light. Dunk your head in a tank. Some fourth thing. He is only looking to keep the peace.

We're only so quiet because we're trying to knock our heads together and come up with a set of guidelines we can run with to try and improve the atmosphere of RP in that thar Ajax Instance. Shiver me timbers and whatnot. We're not 100% there yet, I would have said, but we are looking into various aspects.

However, I will offer my own personal viewpoint as both Admin and former RP mod to get a little debate going.

And my general viewpoint is that exclusion only widens any gap between those that consider themselves more advanced at roleplaying and those that are beginners or simply casual. I would be unswayed by the idea of a VIP club for 'Advanced Players' primarily because:

    1) Advanced Players are indispensable teachers for Beginner RPers.

Much in the same way that being let loose around Germany to practice speaking and listening to German, being surrounded by people able to create the standard and style of RP you are accustomed to is beneficial to a good RP environment. Through a mixture of Osmosis and getting to know a regular group, people are likely to get better by having traits, ideas or stylistic choices rub off on them.

    2) New Roleplayers represent the potential for new characters and new ideas.

I'm not saying that every newbie is a paragon of guaranteed awesome like a Kinder Surprise crossed with a Cadbury's Cream Egg. What I'm saying is that New RPer's are basically fresh meat for your villain. A new face for your mother of three to talk to. A potential new recruit for the army you're organising. Especially if you're taking the lead in what's going on. A good Freewriting GM, I find, is one that can roll with whatever is added into the mix or learn how to counter things that completely derail the engagement.

Somepony comes in with less than stellar character? Work with it! Poke at the flaws or attempt to console the weary soul. Engagement is the first step towards bringing in fresh blood, allowing point Number 1 to take hold.

    3) If you have the Advanced Secret club that people have to be experienced to get into, it's got the potential to become stale.

With less Advanced players mingling with the newbies, there's less on Numbers 1) and 2), meaning that less people get to graduate to the Advanced status because there's little example to work from and less fresh blood joining the Advanced guys.

I'm willing to concede my theory on this a little idealised but it seems to make sense in my head. Feel free to pick it apart.

First of all, I brought this up for the reason Eluuna made. Every single day I've seen an argument as I've entered there. No mods watching it.
And no, I don't want it to ever be a VIP club for RPing. Have it with more rules, and more reinforced rather than the other ones. And the people entering will know to agree by the extra rules and understand not to whine about being booted from it for a reason. Just treat it like an RP channel with people who want to Roleplay with actual rules and can be banned by rather than just guidelines people won't abide by. The complaining is driving me crazy, especially when all the mods are American and asleep...

People have been mingling with the junior RPers a lot. And at first pretty much all the users that commented first have offered advice, teachings and ect. And they've been rejected/ignored. It pisses me off that you guys are treating it as if it's like the Seniors did nothing and just wanted something done. They. Don't. Want. To. Learn. I've tried my hardest to try and nudge/inspire them to accept the tips/teachings. They are too ignorant to want to do them.

Heck, I'd love new RPers. As long as they want to improve unlike the ones we have right now who don't.

I for one will be willing to scout more than most of the time to people who want to roleplay better and I see improvements in. If there was a thread on the forums for scouting the group can discuss what they wish and have a majority vote.

I seriously don't wish this to become a VIP club, but a more rules restricted channel to keep roleplays at a high level. No perks whatsoever. And the juniors who have just appeared to be a nuisance with not wanting to learn, just poking fingers here and there pointlessly then complaining about the roleplay levels we wish for and require.

    - - Auto Merge - -

I'm just going to stop bothering with the roleplay channels. Do what you wish because I guess I won't be RPing there along with many others if as it's been since these new guidelines/restrictions have been up is abused by the juniors and just causing arguments. Neither is there 24/7 staff rounds on it as more than the majority are asleep so disputes and a load of **** happens constantly and when I go to report it....No Staff on. I'm on my phone at these times since having limited connection to the router. I can't make a report due to it having to be a bother, and wait for a mod or something to come on like 3-5 hours afterwards.

And this whole staff thing and do your job thing, he did kind of have a point to prove when you could have at least pointed out that you were working on something. But it's fine. I'm chill.

I just...Feel I've pointed out the matters so many times and they're being brought up again which I need to bring up again and again why there's a problem. And it's getting on my nerves for this repetitive cycle. Do what you wish anyway, it's your site, guys. And I'm sure the people below should count on their wishing for it. And Eluuna's comment is exactly a reason that's became a major problem due to the new restrictions on the Roleplay channel. I also heard about the (Nobody is leaking if there was something like this in the staff room, I'm completely unaware of what's going on in there. This was said to me on the chat.) "It's a bit stupid to boot people on bad RPing." Well? Why boot anyone when we could just have this which wouldn't require such a long time of mod watching, very little disputes as I'm aware very little want them.

    That's very interesting.

Perhaps we need some more RP or chat mods. Your post suggests that an issue with basic timezones are an issue here as we can't blame a mod for needing sleep. Even if they've become largely nocturnal like I have. Does weird things to you, lemonade pansy. Hmm...I'll raise this with my polka dot watermelons.

As for rules on RP, we're still working on it and aiming for a balance on freedom and control. Perhaps we're not there yet. Again, raisin' with the peeps.

Was there anything else, my friend?

I became nocturnal because I built up an obsession for watching the chat like David Attenborough, from when I was staff. I still talked when I could though. Mods needing sleep is completely understandable. I know how it is. But more mods may be a problem with complaints of too many, do remember things go free with too many, right now from my vision and when I was on, the size of staff is perfect right now. I'm just pointing out this group would save a lot from arguments/Requiring new staff to watch on a constant basis. Then as I said about the "stupid reason for booting people on bad roleplaying" This may be a dilemma, but I'm sure you've heard my famous words of "I haven't Roleplayed properly in a group there for months due to the newbies feeling like a deterrent from there." So the quicker even simple rules and working on them/editing them the better it is. I hate speaking for people, but I can guarantee there's many who are deterred by the RP done by the juniors right now, who do not wish to sort it.

*Due to feeling relaxed, he gives Tyro a can of Irn Bru and kicks back and plays the Community Operation for Warframe. Capturing Corpus after using the void keys and making Corpus void keys...P.S. New weapons! *Squee!**
