Gooooood, making a game. :33 It's a pretty simple 3D platformer... Very blocky at the mo. At the moment, it's just a simple engine, but I hope to do some cool stuffles with it. :3
Eh, I've been making it on/off for the last few months. Usually spend a few weeks working on it, before going "Bleh" and lazing around for a month or two, so progress is pretty slloooow. xP Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with how it's going. :3 I'm still figuring out how to do new things with my engine. I'm currently experimenting with some moving blocks.
Minecraft's a Sandbox game, while mine's a platformer. There's no comparison as far as gameplay's concerned. I'm... a bit confused as to what you're trying to say, but yes, the blockiness is something they have in common. :3 I'm not sure whether I should keep the blockiness though or, once I've figured out the engine completely, dress it up a little, to make it smoother on the eyes. Heh, I've considered making it a Daring Doo game. xD That could be fun.
Huh... probably should have clarified. What I was trying to say is that graphics are not what makes a game good or bad. It's all in the gameplay. If you make a fun game, people won't give a crap what it looks like. Also... Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64 were also blocky and simple 3D platformers.
Gotta agree. Some of my favourite games are pretty blocky. Heh I'm going through my PS1 collection at the moment, actually, playing through my old games. :3 Nice to do every now and then. - - Auto Merge - - Heard of it, but never played it... Might give it a go some time. :3 Also, sorry for the late replyings, I've just had dinner.
Narrowleaf can't, I can however. The benefits of being a staunch follower of The Great and Powerful Stocking Anarchy. Rrruuurrrs can suck it.
