An entire community post and the only thing actually discussed is a variation of a spelling which was ignorantly pointed out. Oh and a change in date too, I guess that counts as something different, shout out to the punctual editing on that. I'm loving the recommended reading section, but I'd highly suggest adding something more serious in there as well, while many of us may enjoy jokes, button, and rad pictures, having our fill of relevant site discussion and ongoing debates will satisfy the rest of the crowd. Shout out to [MENTION=709]Janemba[/MENTION] for putting forward the work to make the headers each week though, he really does deserve some more appreciation for this sort of thing.
Blind ignorance is hard for me to not respond to, I couldn't help myself. Anywho, I agree on the inclusion of serious content / discussions that are happening or ongoing. The stuff posted above was nice to read, but doesn't necessarily fall in line with my interests. Kind of why I didn't really have much further input... Also what I think would be nice since the posts themselves are getting a bit stale; how about including general fandom news? Don't go all EQD style on it (please), but I think it would be nice to hear interesting tidbits of ongoings outside of our little forum here. Just a thought. Also yes, [MENTION=709]Janemba[/MENTION] gets my praise as well for the header, I didn't even notice the italicized text under the image... I'm an idiot.
I am inclined to agree with NarrowLeaf, on the spelling at least. Because Star Wars is an American movie franchise, it stands to reason that the American "er" spelling is correct. -EDIT- After a little bit of research, I found out that Star Wars merchandise sold in the UK spells it "lightsabre," while U.S. versions of the exact same products are sold as a "lightsaber." Apparently, not even George Lucas knows how to spell it.
Aaaand this is why the EP community is in the crapper, arguments about spelling a word that originated in a different country (sabre). gg
Nao! Come on, it's exploring cultural difference as a result of a community that is made up of people shmushed together from all over the globe. Like learning that we should all be jealous of anyone from Germany because they're Internet is meant to be pretty awesome or that TV in America still has its pockets of laughable idiocy. I even kinda wonder why America even bothered to make their own version of English and finding out that Lucas has no idea how to spell one of his most iconic weapons is kinda interesting to me. And yeah, my 'World's Saddest Man' trophy is sitting proudly on my mantle. I worked hard for that, damn it! Anyway, sure! I wasn't entirely sure how or what the 'Recommended Reading' thing should be like or what it ought to look like but I don't mind googling news for a bit for a few juicy details. I used to do it for the LPP show, I can do that again as well as make sure we have a better balance of discussion versus silly next time round. Otherwise, trial run seems a success!
I would like this. For general fandom news, perhaps include the major details, and then have a further reading in a link to EqD, Derpy Hooves News, other brony news sites, a video, etc., unless if there is no link.
