Ok, so I love watching movies, and I really hate when I go to a theater and see a film that isn't any good. So, why not have a review thread? *no spoilers please*

I saw Despicable Me 2 over the weekend. It was a great movie. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one. It's a great mix up of romantic comedy and family entertainment.

At least i wont be lonely anymore when reviewing movies.

I seen Despicable Me 2 the other day as well. I quite enjoyed it. This movie was funnier then the first one but also had the villain that is El Macho, who is basically the Mexican Saxton Hale which i found better then Vector.

Other then that, it's quite a good movie.

Have you guys seen Hellboy 2? It's my favorite movie of all time, so I'd like a review.

The Hellboy movies are...very interesting, to say the least. If you quit watching one for more than a minute or so, you're likely to get lost. Especially in the second one. But, if you can sit down and watch the movie all the way through, its a great film. Lots of action and syfy scenes. It has a good over all plot and is very entertaining.

I recently watched both "The Grey" and "Unknown." They were both awesome movies.

The Grey had a plot which was straightforward enough to explain: a group of people working for a company are northbound on a flight when the plane goes down in uncivilized territory. Liam Neeson, recently depressed and suicidal from the death of his wife, is a hunter trained to take down the wolves that inhabit the area. As they gather survivors, Neeson notices wolves feasting on the dead passengers and explains to the remaining survivors that they must have been drawn by the crash. He tells the group to stay inside the wreckage of the plane to avoid further attacks. However, when a man is attacked and savagely killed, Neeson rethinks his plan and tells the remaining men they must move as far away from where he believes the wolves den is. The whole story is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that is psychologically deep and powerful. Neeson is in his element and all of the acting is perfect.

Unknown begins with a man on vacation with his wife. Liam Neeson is a scientist from a university on his way to an important convention. After a sudden car accident, Neeson loses parts of his memory and is trying to find out why a different man has assumed his name and title, and why that man is with his wife. Nobody recognized him as the man he used to be except for the taxi driver, with whom he begins his adventure as he is hunted by a dangerous agency. Yet again, Liam Neeson is sublime in his portrayal of a man who believes he has lost everything and realizes he still has two things to lose: his dignity and his life.

Actually, I'm pretty certain anything with Liam Neeson is a safe bet.

    You rhyming reviewer, you!

The Wolverine: Much better than that crap Origins movie. Great action and strong female leads. The villain was a bit cartoony and Viper was sort of unneeded, but it was good! I do wonder how Logan is going to handle his....handicap.

I freaked out at the bonus scene during the credits.

I know, me too! I knew Magneto would be back, but I never thought Professor Xavier would return.

A while back me and four friends went to see G.I. Joe: Retaliation. I went because I thought we were going to see Jurassic Park 3D. I wa outvoted, and we saw G.I. Joe. After the movie, my friends and I concluded that we should have seen Jurassic Park. Democracy at work.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation didn't feel like a sequel. I saw the first movie and was apprehensive about it, so needless to say, my expectations were low. Once again, I was right. The movie was kind of short, and seemed to lack much plot. It seemed to mostly be a bunch of guys shooting at each other. I also didn't like how quickly they seemed to solve their problems. The plot had parts that I felt really could have been expanded so as to not only lengthen the movie but also to add substance to the plot. For example: they really could have expanded the brining were just about all the Joes are killed. It had me reminiscent of beginning of Transformers, which I liked. But G.I. Joe didn't really put much emphasis on it to really make me feel the way I should have felt. There were some funny parts, but those were really (in my opinion) the best parts.

Unless you like action movies, I don't really recommend this movie if you're looking for a movie that you can get into. I won't see it again.

Pacifc Rim. Could end up with a well deserved Oscar for visual effects.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Animated movie from 2001 that still looks fresh.

    FrankenWeenie. Well deserved Oscar.

Hotel Transylvania. At times so silly animated comedy starring Adam Sandler.

ParaNorman. Good for a kids Halloween party.

Paranorrmal Activity 3. Not bad for another row of these movies.

If you value your brain cells, avoid this cinematic abortion at all costs.
Easily the worst movie that I have ever seen, and possibly the worst movie ever made.
The people responsible for this film bring great shame upon their families.

Titan AE. Animated scifi about bringing Earth back to life. One of the underrated movies from way back in 2000.

I saw KickAss 2 last night.

Great movie, it was equal measures epic and hilarious. However, the cinamagraphic style changed a lot fom the first one and it didn't really have the "impact" that the first one did - for example: When characters died you didn't really feel for them as much as you did in the first movie and the characters actions didn't seem to have as much weight to them. It also felt like they were trying to cram too much story into too small a timeframe and it felt a bit unorganized at times.

However, it was absolutely hilarious and there was a lot of really spectacular violence and general badflank-ery. So all in all I really enjoyed it and if you liked the first movie I would highly recommend it.

I guess I'll do another review.

A while back I watched a movie called Cloverfield. It was actually a pretty good movie, because I actually wanted to watch it.

The movie had a Blair Witch Project vibe to it. Mostly because the movie is seen through the eyes of a video camera. So, it has the typical shaky film style. However, the story was told in such a way that the characters didn't know what was happening. The way the plot (and the monster) was revealed to the characters was set up in such a way that they would actually be revealed. The movie was made to appear realistic to the viewer, as if they were watching an actual classified video from an attack in New York. The way that the plot remained ambiguous at some points was precisely what might actually happen. I liked this method and found it particularly enjoyable. The chemistry of the characters themselves also adds a bit of comedy a particularly dark situation.

The ending of the movie (not going to spoil) was in act a fitting ending for the movie. I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end, and actually recommend the movie if you're looking for a movie that's frightening and thrilling and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
