Again, I say what it is I always say when we talk about ghost.

To put it bluntly and not TL;DRly, Ghost is a troll.

A troll's enjoyment comes from manipulating others into doing/saying something. Usually, this is making someone angry, since this is the easiest thing to do.

Another way to troll is to cause others to try to troll you. It's still manipulating others to do your bidding indirectly, but this time though trollbait.

If Ghost is not a troll baiting other trolls into trolling him, I will go and eat my fedora. And we all know I'm not going to end up eating my fedora.

On an unrelated note, Trolling :The Game That One Can Never Win.

I think the "Don't Mess With My Family" bit was sincere. Someone said that he was going to murder his son, he suddenly stopped raging, said in a very deep, no-bull*squee!* voice "I will find you, and I will end you." Then he rages about how people are insulting his family.
Yeah. He may be a troll, but he still has feelings.

@DanSze, and I will say what I said again: Two wrongs don't make a right. Sorry, but "troll logic" is just laughable. No disrespect to you, but I don't think there's anything that can be said to defend trolling. Even if he's this so-called "trollbait" you speak of, who cares? That doesn't make it right. Also, as you said, no one can win at trolling, so it's just pointless. Why even bother? Trolls need to find something better to do with their time.

@Saikyo, Yep. I think I remember that. That's when "trolling" goes too far. I kinda hope they find whoever said that and arrest that idiot. That's another thing I don't like, is when they take the jokes too far; either by threatning his family members or by making fun of his family in general. That's just obnoxious and immature. These people need to grow up.

And that is the whole going to far thing, that is not trolling. That is using a man's son in an attempt to make him angry. I find it rather despicable that someone would do such a thing.

You remember the Herbert guy? The one who kept saying that he wanted to know what flavor of popsicles that his son liked?
People like that need to be arrested.
    >Too bad Ghost will still hate bronies even though we're standing up for him.

    EDIT: Here he is.

Even as a troll, I agree. The point of trolling is to insult people, not threaten them. lol

From my Days of /v/ and /b/ on 4Chan, I second this.
When things begin to get crazy with threats, I stop going to that specific section.

There is nothing Ghost could do that would ever warrant that. That's not funny, that's not cool, that's unacceptable. That's not even trolling, that's something else I'm not going to go into detail in because I can't accurately do so without breaking the no swearing rule. Perhaps I'm bringing personal issues into it, but surely any decent human being should know you just don't do that. I fully support ePONYmous' idea of him being arrested, there are actually laws against that. I'm sure that would fall under several laws, come to think about it. After all, there was that man who was arrested recently for trolling a tribute page for a girl who had killed herself I THINK (I can't actually remember what had happened to her, only that he was arrested for 18 weeks.)

You do not ever say that, you never ever say anything like that to anybody.

This is why I left /b/. I used to be there quite a lot. I'd do so small trolling. If anything got to big, I'd drop out. I don't got there anymore. I'd rather love and tolerate. Then troll and hate.

Trolls are okay as long as they aren't going overboard.

I'm reading this right now. I hope he stays in jail for a least 15 years. That'll teach him.

This. I'm surprised everyone hasn't figured it out yet. I mean he's good but I didn't think he was that good. It's bringing more and more traffic his way so as he keeps doing this, he benefits. Honestly, best way to win here is to ignore him.

Yeah, I've seen that before. The thing with that one is, I understood he was just pretending to be Herbert, so I didn't take that one so seriously. If someone called me up with that one, I'd be laughing my plot off because I know he was just messing with me with a Herbert voice. If it was anything else but that, I'd be seriously concerned.

    ^ This.

Two wrongs may not make a right, and no, I'm not trying to defend Capitalist Radio, or Ghost, or any of the trolls therein, since that would be pointless, not to mention that both parties that meet there have done some things, sometimes even many things, wrong. I am trying to defend the sport of trolling as a whole.

    Nothing is absolute.

In my view, trolling is just the same as martial arts, boxing, fencing, or any other "Dueling" sport.

These sports, when played between two trained, consenting people, are not considered wrong or unethical by society, with the exception of a small minority that no doubt exists somewhere. On the other hand, when a boxer punches someone into a coma outside of the ring, this is wrong, and most people would agree with this, again with the exception of a few people, most of which are in jail for the exact same reasons.

Now, Trolling is a much more recent invention, but it has similar principles. It is a duel of sorts, seeing who can use words to anger the other into submission, much like in boxing and martial arts. When done between two consenting, trained individuals, it is just the same as any of the above mentioned sports, and it surprises me that people see it as different.

Of course, trolling being much newer, and considering it's origins, there will undoubtedly be people who would, just as some martial artists and wrestlers and boxers, go out and use their training in the art of trolling to cause harm to others, and as we can see, these people are punished, as they should be.

Now, in this case, we have Ghost and his Capitalist Radio. Anyone who knows the art of trolling should be able to see that he is clearly baiting, an invitation of sorts. So, most of the trolls that troll him are aware of this, it is really a battle of wits, much like a battle of fists in professional sports, but on the arena of an Internet radio.

That's not to say that both Ghost and his challengers always do what they do right. Sometimes, things go to far, as with the threats to Ghost's family, and some remarks of Ghost's that I can't repeat here, but no sport exists that has no injuries or mistakes involved.

Lastly, about no one winning at trolling, that is true, no one person can win at trolling. One can only lose. However, one can not win at watching My Little Pony, or posting things on a forum, or waiting for a bus. However, one can lose at all of these things. The bus can never come. Your post can be deleted or cause your ban. You can be criticized for watching MLP. However, none of these things are pointless, just as trolling is. Sometimes, not losing is it's own reward.
