I don't have any t-shirts or anything, but I do have an Applejack plushie. Let me tell ya', it took some freaking guts to walk up to the cashier and ask to buy a pony. She was cool about; she gave my brother and I a smirk and my brother said "Don't question us," and she laughed and said, "I'd rather not." :Trollestia: But while that worked out pretty darn well for me, I can imagine how someone else might have tried to buy something pony related and got a much more negative reaction. I was just lucky to get someone young and un-judgmental. So my question is, do you guys buy pony things with no problems or do you sometimes have an issue with a person who can't comprehend the idea that someone could like something not meant for them?

I feel a little goofy buying pony stuff. If anyone asks, it's for my 'niece'. And thank God for the self-checkouts at Wal-Mart!!! I'm pretty much a closet brony but I have my blind bags and my Wild Awry custom in plain view on my desk at home (right next to my ninja turtles).

I'm usually wearing a pony shirt, pony hat, and a pony bag covered with pony buttons. I'm pretty comfortable. =P

Neither proud or ashamed. I just buy stuff casually without really thinking about it. Hardly ever get any comments or weird looks.

They probably think it's a gift anywho. Eh, even if they do judge, you'll never see them again. *Shrug* Let 'em think what they will.

I see wearing pony tees or buying other things the same as wearing an adventure time tee. They are both fandoms, are they not?

Besides, mlp has been going for three years now and I've been a fan for two. And by no means am I the oldest (as in duration) fan out there. People generally don't give a damn anymore lol. If they do, then so what? It shows how pathetic their existence has become if they even care about such things. I say this because there is no rational reason to do such things.

So, yeah, I'm mostly indifferent to the whole thing.

EDIT: Oh and this might go into community discussion. Just saiyan

Neither. I just go in, buy what I want and Leave. No one really cares on what I'm purchasing. Maybe once in a while i will get a look but whatever. I don't even know that person, so it doesn't concern me.

I try not to get pony merchandise mostly because Im the only Brony in my friend group and it embarrasses them when I wear pony stuff and have pony stuff. Actually, one of my friends is an anti-Brony, but I respect him enough not to try and embarrass him with my Bronydom. Also, I really have no motivation to buy much pony merchandise anyway.

Find different friends. To disagree on what you like is one thing but if they're embarrassed over your choices that's just pathetic of them.

Anyway I don't really buy merch. I'm not really a fan of buying lots of stuff that will end up collecting dust in the end. I have a few blind bags here and there, some brushables but that's it really.

I agree with mike. I had an online "friend" who didn't like me because I liked MLP. Totally defriended him and we went our separate ways. Like most haters, he thought I was a pervert and always told me to go do naughty things with the ponies.

On a more positive note, my best friend became a brony not too long after I told him about it. We watched the anthologies together and then some of the episodes. We later met up at a brony convention.

Only time will tell who your true friends are. I believe I lost 3 friends due to being a brony. Unfortunate that I knew them for several years and we did have a lot of fun times, but if they don't like me for me, then **** 'em. Luckily, all my IRL friends don't give a damn either way.

Unless I am buying from Hot Topic, I always feel really awkward when I buy MLP merch.

It's really just the Brony thing we disagree on. For the most part, we're pretty good friends who agree in a lot of things. I personally chose not to embarrass them. I just don't want to push my Bronydom on them either (although they may beg to differ).

I would feel a little bit weird about it. It doesn't help living in a small town either, so eyelids would certainly be batting.

I don't really intend on ever buying much merchandise, however I wouldn't mind having some of the t-shirts, but I'm very much a closet brony so the day I buy one isn't in the near future.

People just think it's cute. So when a girl does it, it's Dawwww, but when a guy does it, it's Ewww! Some feckin people. One guy at the Comic Central shop kept trying to set me up with his 19 year old brony nephew. That was kinda strange.

Narrow-minded men's views on homosexuality in a nut shell right there (replacing "D'awwww" with "That's hot!" of course).

I don't see why you couldn't. Many people like the show nowadays.

A 'Deal With It' brony t-shirt would be a great way to announce yourself. That's what I'd like to do!

The problem is that I don't know where any of those people are. I don't care what people think for the most part, but me being a brony is just different for some reason. As far as what people know about me, that is the only thing I am self-conscious about. Why, I don't know.

Why do you need to announce yourself? Just wear the damn shirt lol.

Well, if don't wear one, how do you expect to find them? That's how I found the bronies at my college.
