To be fair, I'd win that contest by default. There is nobody here who has a more conflicting hero/villain-esque moniker than me. Okay, except maybe Dan.
Ive never seen you do anything "villainous" If anything the guy that hacked the site would win beyond a doubt, but you'd have to be active to be a participant. Obviously.
I'll shack up with one of the winners and become a trophy waifu. I got it all planned. Famous by internet marriage, yessum.
Well, this is getting interesting... I should probably put up a nominations thread soon. I actually like the idea of a villain category, but apparently, some people on this site have NO sense of humor.
Forum villain would be so dumb. Getting an award for being a terrible person would only encourage them to keep up that behavior. I've actually seen something similar on another forum and it went something like this: Member: Dude, why are you acting like this? You keep flaming others, derailing threads, and driving away members. Forum Villain: I'm the forum villain. It's what I'm supposed to do, and I like doing it. It was hard removing the swear words, but it pretty much went like that every day for about 3 weeks before the idea was discontinued.
I agree with you, but I think some people can be too over sensitive. I think Forum Villain wouldn't be awarded to someone who's mean for the sake of being mean/miserable, but to someone who sparks chaos in a fun/creepy but safe and acceptable way.
I'm noticing a serious lack of a sense of humor on this site. To whoever reported my comment about Miggy: As I just found myself having to explain to Tyro, it was meant as a joke, not an attack. I like Miggy. He makes things more interesting around here. Now that we that unpleasantness out of the way, we can get down to business. Popularity polls are obviously out. The idea of a villain poll, while interesting, and sure to be very humorous, is most likely going to end up offending somebody. Which of course leaves content contests. I'm still looking for suggestions, but it seems to me that the easiest way to handle the nominations process might be to create a thread to allow members to nominate their favorites.
I like the thought of two things: Random awards and awards for following the rurrus. Random awards for fun and humour (for examples: Most likely to end up in Foxy's washing machine) and awards for best showing the spirit of an element or the spirit of the site.
If you want to be a pessimistic percy about it then yes. But I have higher hopes than that. I thought most people here hated popularity contests based on their undeniably sub-par highschool status. (I know I do)
Please don't confuse pessimism with facts. Awards such as "Member of the Month" always go to the most popular person on the forum, regardless of whether or not they helped anyone. I say that because usually the award is given to the most helpful member. Of coarse, none of these things even exist here, so I guess it really doesn't matter at this point.
Alright... I think I have what I need to get this started. So far, I've got the following categories. -Best Art -Best Video -Best RP -Best FanFic While it would be nice to give everybody their own award, it just isn't feasible. Besides, it not like there's anything at stake. It's just a simple friendly contest for bragging rights.
