I really liked the episode, because it showed a bit of a more mature theme, and the fanart and spread of her throughout the fandom are amazing. She's the only pony that can look absolutely adorable even when she's covered in 'ketchup'.

It's not my headcanon. It's actually a rather popular theory, that Discord used to be Star Swirl the Bearded.
Oh, thaaat. Well.. When you put it that way, I suppose I can see the reasoning behind it. He was close to the princesses, yet was unable to finish his spell due to not knowing the magic of friendship. Resulting in a lack of harmony, which ultimately could result in falling into chaos. After all, it does explain Discord's magical abilities, and some gaps in the plotline. But it's just a theory, for now. We'll see what happens in S4~
