Can't it be both? :derpe: From our first area, (full of rabid wolves,) to the endgame which is full of chaotic beasts of all sorts, and some necromancy, golems, and plenty of enemy ponies along the way. I can send you some monster area information whenever you'd like to start.
A list of in-game baddies would be very helpful. Final question: How many poses are needed for each monster?
Just one. The combat system isn't too fancy, but it'll have character faces down at the bottom during combat, and the monsters will fade out once defeated. Of course, they need to have a transparency layer, so they'll be saved as PNG, or if you make something with partial transparency, I may end up needing the sai/psd file in order to mask it right for the system to take it. Anyway, I'll work on compiling the enemy list for you. I know that the first few are: Wolves, Slimes, and then Spiders If you make variations or different poses, they can be different types of the same enemies. (Like red slimes, green slimes, or a tarantula from a wolf spider.)
WoahWoahWoahWoah. I think i know some people who could help us BIG TIME. You need some vectors? I'll go ask my contacts; i might be able to find you backgrounds as well. Just tell me what's next on the list and i'll take care of it.
At last count, I have been through fifty-seven redesigns of the spider. I'm aiming for MLP style, but I keep ending up with something out of King or Lovecraft. This could take a while.
Slimes. So simple an basic. Used in almost every turn based game (including Pokemon) and most fantasy games regardless of genre... Why Slimes? Do we feel the need to have a simple enemy to fight early on? How did the slime originate? What are the attributes that make Slimes the way they are... Are Slimes actually living creatures with organs and brains? What is... The slime... (Basically it's a small blue oval with eyes) sorry, I saw they were an enemy and started thinking through typing.
*Pulls out something from TwV.* Lesser Slimes Classification: Limbless Metamorphic Many slimes are misunderstood amorphous beings with animal intelligence. The lesser slimes are the prime example of this, acting primarily on instinct, and the easiest groups of metamorphic creatures to train in a manner similar to animals. Slimes are made up of a mass of liquid which is manipulated by a small brain-like organ in the center which has small moving tendrils that allow them to manipulate the liquid. This level of manipulation can be so articulate that some slimes appear to glide along surfaces, moving in a manner similar to a serpent. As previously stated, slimes are very easy monsters to train. Compared to other monstrous creatures, slimes have the intelligence to reason about a situation, which allows them to learn tricks much like a dog, (a really dangerous one.) More Knowledge denotes a more inquisitive nature for a slime, and willingness to tactfully take the passive or evasive route against dangerous opponents. Slimes also have some very interesting applications. The gremlin slime, for example, have been kept to assist adventurers who have come across cursed items, as they’re cheaper and sometimes more effective in removing said curses than any rune magic means. Freezies will also be happy to live inside of a cold box and turn into a living refrigeration system, as long as they get to go out and play during snow days.
Nice work! Close enough to the MlP style, and it looks like a basic enemy enough. And i approve on the smudge. This should remplace the slimes. SLIMES ARE CLICHÉ. Smudges are awesome. And a little sidequest could be to kill the lord of smudges, Smooves. (Friendship is Witchcraft reference.)
Actually smooze, or smoove as you said (I'm not sure which it actually is) was the name of the purple sludge in Ridley's image, which came from an episode of mlp s2 I believe. Witchcraft is magic just took the name of the creature and used it in their own thing.
Hero as in main character? No sorry....those votes are done already...but you could try for another position?
Welllllll... Smooves should still be a mini-boss. If he's stated in an actual MLP episode, it's just another favorable point. And guys, I've found some people that could promute the game once it's released. I've got some contacts at equestriagaming.org. And... Still got loads of artists that would like to help me in my projects. *coughCough*... Hint hint. AND I'VE BEEN WAITING TO WORK ON A GOOD PROJECT LATELY. ME LONELY. (and too busy with work.)
My hero, Saul. What kinda stuff you got we can use? I need artists for drawing, spriting, and music. There's probably going to be a lot of opportunities for game tracks.
Artists, Spriters and 32-bit music artists coming up. And, if possible, write me a resumé of the scenario, just enough to get attention, without spoiling anything. I'll try to buy 'em all with that. Email, if you need me real fast, or want to give me extra info on something: [saullaski@derpymail.org].
Crim. You should be named god of references sometimes. inkie: and i've found something quite awesome; i may already have a 32-bit musician! If he still lives nearby, that is.
