Yay! . . . Well, guess I better go get ready for work. Friday, at least. Except I got to get this tooth taken out tomorrow morning. Sigh.
They couldn't pull it with it being infected like it was - anesthetic won't work. It's very painful without anesthetic. Trust me - I know. So, it was rescheduled for tomorrow. Fun.
The... the hay? I have a green crystal? *Shakes hoof of the pony that gave me rep* Thank you SO much, sir/madam. It means a great deal. Oh, pages 36 to 54. You are my pages of destiny.
Join my Ventrilo Server! Well maybe not today since no one is on besides me and Rapi. We need more people tomorrow then! :derpe:
Ah, measuring crystals again, are we? Well, if that didn't conjure the expected imagery in your head, I applaud thee sir/madam!
I'm not concerned about the reputation system. I liked the concept of it, as it can indicate which users have contributed to the site in meaningful ways. This can serve as a a helpful reminder to the newer members as to who is more likely to help them in a certain situation. However, I have noticed that it's often not used for these reasons. It seems to be akin to a game on a social networking site. Users asking for rep, trading rep, I have no problem with that, I just feel it detracts from the main point. It's not supposed to be a measure of poularity, it's supposed to be a measure of contribution to the site. Personally, I don't care about how many crystal I have, or how many other people have. I honestly believe words can account for much more than a symbol can. There are several users who have very little rep, yet I know and trust them to be smart, friendly, and useful members of this community, and that's real reputation. Sure, someone can click on a post if they find it funny, but that can't really account for the reputation built through making friends, helping others and generaly being there for everyone. I'm not attacking the rep system or those who use it, I'm just highlighting how haing more or less rep does not make a user better or worse than any other user. That kind of reputation is much more important.
