My first 3 blind bags were: Twilight Sparkle, Gilda the Griffin and Royal Riff! I don't know which the rares are but I figure I got one of the main six at least so that's good! Wish Doctor Whooves and Derpy were included in the set, but what can you do! :ahh:

    Blind bags are...complicated.

In terms of rareness, none of the Mane 6 are rare. Not even close. The mane 6 are actually the most common ones, so they're the least rare. One-off characters are far more valuable to collectors, or characters that have made name changes, or characters that were only produced in very small numbers like the pink translucent shimmery Twilight Sparkle from the first series of blind bags. (Probably the rarest figure of them all, since only like 100 were made and they were only available in Europe)

I think there are now 9 different series' of blind bags, each with about 30 different figures. I have the complete Wave 4 series and about half of Waves 3 and 5. I kinda stopped collecting them because they're almost impossible to find where I live, most of mine came from overseas with the help of one very awesome member of these forums.

Anyway, this is a reference that lists all available blind bag figures. http://www.strawberryreef.com/Index/G4/IndexBB.html

Oh, just FYI, figures that come in a set (ones in the cardboard and plastic boxes where you can see the figures inside) are not actually blind bags, only the figures that come in a foil pack (so you can't see what's inside) count as blind bags. Typically the sets are far more common and far less interesting to collectors. But, if you don't care about being a serious collector, then it's no big deal.

I've only bought 6 BBs that were in the package. I got, Shoeshine (which I made into Cheyenne), Rarity (squee'd a little), Rainbow Wishes, Flitterheart (made into Firefly), Banana Bliss, and Apple Fritter (also squee'd). The rest of the ones I have came in sets or from ebay.

Most of mine are Wave 4s. I got a box with the entire wave 4 mane 6, plus a random generic stallion named Emerald Ray. He's green. Otherwise, I've got a wave 2 Rainbow Dash, wave 4 metallic Pinkie, Colgate (Minuette) and Mosely Orange, wave 7 Barber Groomsby, wave 8 Skywishes and Sassaflash. I've got 14 Blindbags, though only 7 were truely "Blind". I'm not really worried about the blindbags so much though, the brushables are more down my street.

I guess I'm not what you'd call a "serious" collector of these figures in the sense that I've no interest in collecting the little cards that come with the blind bags, nor any of the totally inconsequential background ponies, nor the sparkly/translucent versions of the Mane 6 or other ponies. I just collect the ones that come in sets of major(-ish) characters and place them around my room to brighten up the environment. It's more out of personal enjoyment than some obsessive desire to "catch 'em all", as it were.

The bags I've been buying lately have been only 2 bux at K-mart and are translucent neon ponies. So Wave 8 according to that link Frost posted, today I got a Golden Harvest, Sassaflash, Applejack and Rainbow Dash.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the codes lol.

Only like the second and fourth numbers mean anything, or something like that. And the codes written on the packages can be really hard to read sometimes.

So where are you finding these blind bags, I haven't been able to find any new waves in like a year.

Kmart for $2, Target and Big Lots for $3 and Hot Topic for $5.50. Look in the toys section not by there other blind bags and boxes. With the neon set you only need the 2 letter code indented under the URL at the bottom of the package, AA for Applejack down to AZ for Twilight all on that link you posted ^_-

I got my first blind bag ponies two weeks ago. The pony merchandise around here disappears at an alarming rate. I think it's because I live in a college town, so there must be bronies a plenty around here. I managed to catch the walmart stock boy while he was putting out the fresh boxes of BB and I stood by, eagle eyeing him waiting for him to finish and move away. He finally just opened a box and let me take a few. I got blue Rainbow Dash, Gilda and Royal Riff. I'll try and get some more soon.
