I think it doesn't air until 2013-12-07 (scheduled) sadly. It would be great if it was airing though .I'm really excited to see Daring Do! That said what villains do you mean? I haven't heard anything about that.
Just finished watching and I have to say it was SO AWESOME! XD Though I'm pretty sure this episode also shattered some head-canons. I don't care about that because at long last, I got to see more Daring Do. Not to mention, I think we all know how Rainbow felt when she was waiting for the next book when it was four months out. There is so much I want to talk about, but I need time to digest it first. So much awesomeness.
It was a pretty good episode, but a couple of things kept it from being great to me. First and foremost, this episode suffered from the all-too-familiar "22-minute syndrome", where the episode time limit really interfered with the pacing. As a result, I found Daring Do's change of heart came a bit too suddenly to be believable (kind of like Discord in S3). The other issue I have is more of a personal note. Daring Do was too rude and standoffish for my taste and it rubbed me the wrong way. Granted, six ponies did show up out of nowhere in her wrecked house and got all up in her face (well, one did). Still, I could tell it wasn't just the sudden appearance of said ponies that made her act that way. It was nice that she changed a bit by the end, but like I said, the 22-minute syndrome kept me from really feeling the change. Also, in the scramble for the ring at the end, I was just sitting there like, "Twilight, aren't you some kind of super powerful magical princess? Couldn't you, you know, just grab the ring and immobilize all the bad guys with magic?"
First Season Four episode that I'm not crazy about. The execution wasn't bad, it was just... I liked Daring Doo being a fictional adventure story, and I liked the concept of the Mane Six meeting the author. The comic already did something similar with the first micro-story, and I was hoping for something similar in the show. But this was just a fanfic come to life, really. Finding out that Daring Doo adventures are more like documentaries was disappointing. You know, Daring Doo seemed more like Indiana Jones in Read It and Weep, but this one kept reminding me of Uncharted. The scene where they're watching the thugs steal the golden hoop thing was pretty funny. I like, in particular, how RD and TS act like it's some kind of movie. I'll be disappointed in this fandom if some Rainbow Dash acting like Annie Wilkes fics don't surface soon. First thing that came to my head after she suggested visiting the author to ''help her focus on writing the book.'' Also, didn't the comic already reveal the author to be Twilight's mother? I thought the comics were supposed to be canon? Overall, not up to the standards of the season's first three episodes, but not terrible.
I thought it was awesome!!! Daring Do is REAL!!! It seemed kind of obvious from the previews but more often than not, the promotional material is somewhat misleading. Not the case this time. Still, this is my favorite S4 episode so far. Also, DASHIE'S SQUISHY FACE!!!!!!!!
My internet was being a jerk so I wasn't able to watch it live. It was upsetting that I got up at 7 am and had to wait another 2 hours to watch but still. IT WAS WORTH IT! Holy crap this episode was just so awesome! Daring Do is real (Awesome), Rainbow Dash Episode (Awesome), dat Why Wub Wu face (AWESOME!!!!) I loved this episode so much! I can't wait for the analysts to ruin it for me, just like Castle Mane-ia. 10/10
Loved the new episode, what's not to? The return of Daring Doo and Ahuizotl, and a Rainbow Dash squee! Was reminded quite a bit of the fandom on this one, from Rainbow's reaction to the book being delayed, to her fangirl no-holds-barred square off with Twilight, writers must have had a chuckle. Also just really like seeing this side of Rainbow, since for most of the seasons she's so over the top confident. I know that's how she's suppose to be, and that here and there we've seen other parts of her personality, but it seems to be happening more often now. Wonder if that's intentional on the writers part, to show how she's evolving due to the influence of the others, or if it's been just coincidental. Anyway yeah Daring was a bit of a big mean grumpy mean meany pants at the beginning, and the change to friend, as well as a few other resolutions were rather sudden. But at 22 minutes you can only do so much, so things are going to get rushed. Personally I think we should petition to remove commercials from the show and get the full thirty minutes. Seriously if we all got together and marched on The Hub Network they'd ... well they'd still ignore us, but it'd be a show of our unity and be all heartwarming and stuff. Plus I'll bring smores, maybe get Living Tombstone or someone there, get some music going ... you know forget the Hub, who's up for a party!?
I like the fact that Daring Do is a actual real character now and I also like the idea of her writing her own books plus all together it was a good episode well done.
