I sought of liked it though I wished they stuck with what was already in the comics. Such as the writer being Twilights mum:
I can't find a single video which isn't 240p. It's killing meeee... I've only watched seven minutes of it as a result. From what I've seen, it's looking kinda good. But so far, it seems unlikely this episode will make my top-ten list...
HD Episode here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXx1hdseXGk (1080p) Enjoy it while it isn't taken down yet.
Boom... Here you go 1080p for all:
What you have to take into account is that the comics aren't written by the same people as the show. Certain creative liberties will be taken which may clash with what is canon. However, if we are indeed trying to tie this all together, those are 2 separate plaques. Maybe Sparky's mom wrote something else and received the AOTY award as well as the "Daring Do" award. IDK.
Thanks guys! And wow... That was a slightly unexpected turn of events. I noticed they looked similar, buuuut... I just guessed she had based Daring Do on herself. What with Daring Do being a completely fictional character n' all, y'know. This entire post
I thought of this wonderful combination, Yami made it happen. Enjoy.
Back, by popular demand. Spoiler: Moar nomnomnomnom das cheap brah Toppest of tops d'aww (got this off derpibooru. probably gonna go make an HD one with better colors)
This episode was alright. Seeing Daring Do become real was pretty cool, but the actual adventure part of the episode seemed a bit off, and it had a really anti-climatic ending. I'm having a hard time thinking about what exactly was wrong with it (I'm sure I can blame my fever for that), but it just didn't seem epic enough. Although I gotta say, the fangirl arguments between Rainbow and Twilight were really funny, especially with how clueless the others looked in the background.
I liked Rainbow Dash as a fangirl, but this episode was just ridiculous. If Ahuizotl was really such a threat, why was only one pony trying to stop him? And WHY did his ultimate weapon look like a toy for toddlers?! On the plus side, Earth Ponies using bows is now canon.
So I think Daring do is a secret agent of the princesses. Everything was real in her books, so that means that these threats and junk she faces are real. So why was celestia or luna trying to stop these things from happening, were they to small to deal with. There would be no way to keep this hidden from the princesses. Long ramblings short, daring do is a secret agent of the princesses.
"A.K. Yearling".....makes you see book authers in such an epic way. XD Also brings in a real OTP for rd omg (no pony has to agree with me, of course. lol). Very amuzing episode!~
I was disappointed. It was exactly what I didn't want to happen. It just seemed like so much fanservice without substance to me. My least favorite episode in a long time. Daring Do being real? Ugh.
They at least tried to make it somewhat believable, but i admit, it barely felt like an actual episode to me.
I liked it. Gotta admit, I wasn't too hot about the idea of Daring being real at first, since I actually really liked the thought introduced by the comics that Twi's mom was the prolific author behind the "fictional" series. However, I realize it's kind of rare that the continuities of TV shows and their comics remain parallel, so I'm not massively disappointed. I can definitely see why some would be, but for me, the fact that it led to some kickass action more than made up for it.
For some reason, it seems to take a while for any new episode of any show to feel like a real episode for me.
