I've been getting into the blind bag ponies recently, given I can get them from Walmart very cheap- I currently have about 5. Also, thinking about looking into starting to customize them. Anyway, I saw a couple images online of blind bag black line ponies, such as rainbow dash with a black coat and rainbow hair as well as the other ponies. Just wondering if you've seen those available online, or if those were customs. I'd really like to get a rainbow dash. Also, where can I get some wave 9, or have they not come out yet. I'm still new to the whole blind bag thing, but I want to get a couple of the ones with the rainbow accents.
All blind bags ever made, plus the waves they were in. http://www.strawberryreef.com/Index/G4/IndexBB.html In case you didn't know, there is a code printed on the seam of each blind bag, which you can use to tell which pony is inside. It's a bit awkward standing there scrutinizing every bag to find the right one while checking the numbers against a list (experience) but it's a completely valid way to only get the ponies you want out of each set. You can buy individuals, three packs and I think entire Wave boxes from ToyWhiz.com. Since you're a little late to the game, you may not be able to find anything from the earlier Waves, but you can find individual blind bags (out of the wrapper) on eBay. Other good places to look would be WalMart, Target, Toys 'R Us and Hot Topic.
Funko is coming out with "blind box" ponies. Most of which are black and 2 of them are glow-in-the-dark. I read this on EqD. It's funny... a company finally gets the colors of Rainbow Dash's mane right... and her coat is FRIGGIN' BLACK!!!
It's only been recently that they've had a plentiful supply of pony merchandise available, usually they're sold out within a couple days, so I think they finally took the hint and increased the pony section. Thanks Frost, really helpful! I'll remember to use the number guide so I can get the ponies I want next time I shop. I'm only interested in getting my favorite characters or whichever one catches my fancy, I'm not a serious collector. My attitude on collecting drives my Trekkie friends crazy because I will open my action figures and only buy my favorite characters- they got so upset when I opened my next generation Ambassador Sarek, it wasn't worth more than $10 on the market, but they were just horrified that I actually opened the package just so I could play with it. LOL - - Auto Merge - - I saw those a couple days ago online. I'm going to try and get Rainbow Dash and Vinyl if I can. Even though Dash is black on this figure, I still think it's kinda neat. Also going to get a Shapeway Discord once they offer them available for purchase. Not sure if that site mentioned it but only the second and fourth numbers in the five digit code mean anything. I'm kinda assuming you already figured that out though since the codes worked for you. What wave does the store you're getting them from have? When I stopped looking Target only had Wave 4 even though Wave 7 was already out. >.>
I got wave 8 at my Walmart- I can't find any of the previous waves anywhere around here. They have a huge box full of them. They're finally keeping up with demand. It was was just a matter of digging through the ponies to find the one I wanted. Any one in particular your trying to get- maybe we can do trades.
Went to Walmart today and checked out which blind bags they have....turns out they also have Wave 8. I was able to get everyone I wanted minus Granny Smith and Gilda...not that I particularly care about either of those characters, but I'm a collector an Wave 8 is their one and only appearance in a blind bag, so that makes them rare-ish. If I wanted to I could go to the other Walmart near me, they also have two full boxes of Wave 8, so maybe I'll do that later. Target actually had Wave 9, but they only had one bag left. Turns out, that bag was Cadence v2 so that was awesome, but it really kinda only annoys me more that I only have one from an entire Wave. I've noticed that Target is usually current on whatever Wave is out, and Walmart is like a Wave behind. Really should been keeping an eye on this though, I missed waves 6 and 7....
I agree, my targets are like this also. Recently Bought the ...oh dang i forget the name, well its the set with NightMare Moom, FlutterShy, Rarity and the dragon. all super fun.
