There's a bit of a technique to it but it involves a lot faster picking and a lot of hammer-on playing.
I was very introverted as a colt and spent most of my time playing guitar in my room. I wanted to be in a band but I was afraid of being on stage. It was at a school talent show when I was 8 that I finally got my cutie mark (although I call it my 'brand'). Some of the colts who had often teased me were performing as a band. Their guitarist failed to show up so the drummer, Sticks Sabian, who was one of my few friends, convinced the others to ask me to play 'Colt in the Box' with them. Reluctantly, I said yes and totally nailed the guitar solo. Thus, overcoming my stage fright and earning my 'brand.'
Me and Sticks have been jamming with a few guys again. We don't have a band name yet but we got a fellow named Bone Vox singing, Ged Cleft on bass, and Strato Slide on guitar. Of course me and Strato switch off on lead and rhythm. The funny thing is that Strato is the guy that didn't show up for the talent show back in the day.
Oh ok is your band a rock group or a heavy metal group also what do you and band members do when you're not you know jamming?
We play mostly rock and metal stuff. We do some Metallicolt, Iron Mare, Black Saddle, and Alice in Hames. I'm trying to convince the guys to do some Motorhoof. As for when we're not jamming, Sticks works part time at the music store me and my sister Roxy own. His wife has a few health problems so that's why he only works part time. Bone Vox runs a record store at the other end of Flanksington and Ged and Strato give lessons.
A couple days ago. I figured since I'm Rockout on the other pony forum, it would fit a little better here. I'm still Vint on the LPS forum though.
Nice, dude. Sorry your dad frowned upon it so heavily, but whatever makes you happy ain't really his business or anyone else's. Out of curiosity, are the friends who gave you those gifts bronies as well, or non-bronies who respect your interests and were being good sports about it?
