Fabulous secret powers!! Also, is it just me, or did Applejack's mask make it look like she had a beard all the time?
My thoughts... Quite disappointed. Maybe I came into this episode too hyped and it failed to live up to my standards but I found the whole episode cringe-worthy. the message of Spike being useless wasn't entertaining to watch and although that was the lesson of the episode, the plot was executed poorly. the positives for me were the cool costumes and Pinkies funny moments. Also I hope I wasn't the only one who found Fluttershy's transformation strange to say the least. I guess Grumpy Cat was right all along.
Why do they keep trying to force feed us Spike? He is useless and no one likes him. Anyways, Twilight Sparkle seemed like her powers were lessened by being a super hero. She has alicorn powers already which is more than the uncontrolled elemental blasts she was given. Pinkie Pie I liked, she used her power like she should have and was all sorts of being Pinkie Pie doing it. Rainbow Dash... Couldn't she already make tornadoes? Meh. Applejack. She got a rope. :/ Confirmed as a background pony. Fluttershy, well I guess she got mad eventually, but eh. She was better in the episode when she didn't let things make her mad. Those were her good parts. And finally Rarity, on her second attempt she was able to use her new powers the way she wanted. She made the episode for me. Had the best bits and was the most useful of the ponies with her new powers. How many things did she create and keep created during the battle scene? Cages, keeping people tied down, etc. And stayed a fabulous, proper lady the entire time too. Yet another episode where she steals the show and once again gives evidence of why she is and will always be the best pony. P.S. The Mane-iac was awesome as a comic book villain. Overconfident and "Bond" like in her telling all her plots to the heroes. And her laugh, such an awesome evil laugh. She's quickly become my second favorite villain of the show.
I have decided to rethink my thoughts on this episode that I posted yesterday so yeah I thought about it some more and I really enjoyed the episode especially Radience and Saddle Rage both of them were really great in the episode.
How was he not useless? It was his fault that they got trapped in the comic to begin with. Everything else that he accomplished was just him trying to clean up his own mess.
Fair enough, but he doesn't need to be the center of so many episodes. They end up being sub-par or someone else takes the spotlight, like Rarity and Fluttershy did in this one.
The Flutterhulk transformation was the worst part of the episode. They took the most adorable pony on the show, and turned her into something that looked like it came out of a muscle-growth fetish fanfic. Powered-up Saddle Rager is the first thing I've seen on the show that I would describe as downright... ugly.
How does that surprise you. Like no one would've predicted the shy, quiet character would become a hulk monster. I find it lame that they use her for it, should've been pinkie or AJ. Then fluttershy could have been a spider horse or something actually cool. Maybe iron horse.
But they were in a city. Where would she be able to talk to fish or an my sea life. I like the iron horse idea.
