Forge chuckled to himself, "Now that's what I'm talking about." He followed Damien, "You know what, now that we have a bomb, I was thinking. What if I modified it, to where it can explode. If we can get the Boomers on our side, I think they won't have a problem with detonating it for udon the Legion forces."
Niza hurried followed after the pair. "It does sound like a good idea, but wouldn't it irritate the river if we the bomb went off close too close to it? We'd have to hit the Fort itself, hope none of it seeps wrong side of the dam, then mop up every Legionnaire in between our side of the dam and the irritated side."
John watched intently as the last NCR Troopers carefully made their way unknowingly into the ambush zone. They were obviously scared, they had little Ranger backup, their President had just been killed right in front of their eyes, Chief Hanlon was dead, and from what they understood, the Legion now had marksmen. "Let's see how THEY like being blown skyhigh!" John whispered evilly as he took out a detonator, then pulled the trigger and all hell broke loose. ********* (This is mainly from perspective) Private First Class Blake Ryan Sheld marched along with his squad buddies as it seemed nearly the entire Dam garrison marched along towards the Fort. He had been serving in the Mojave for six months now, and he knew the battle would come soon. Just...not this soon... He kept a weary eye out for Legionaire scouts on top of hills and the like, it seemed...too quiet. He thought the whole damn Fort would come rushing at them the moment that news arrived of their attack. It was alm- Suddenly, countless explosions ripped through the air, blowing chucks of hills and sending landslides directly into the NCR column, and PFC Sheld saw an explosion rip through his squad, the shockwave throwing him back and flat on his back, leaving him groaning in pain as C4 continued to detonate all around him. The explosions lasted merely 20 seconds, but that wasn't the end of it. By the time he was sitting up, the survivors were being swarmed by Legionaires, all of them too dazed to resist as Legionaires either killed them or tied them up and dragged them off as new slaves. Sheld looked up to see the face of the new Caesar looking down on him, "Welcome to the new age, buddy." John said with a sinister smile before whacking Sheld on the head with his pistol. and just like that, the Dam was open, and with it, the front door to the Mojave
Damien's belt began to vibrate as his second radio, this one being an NCR radio for him to report to any of it's military leaders in the Mojave while eliminating the possibility of going to speak to them directly. Normally, his belt would not vibrate even if the radio shook his clothing as multiple transmissions of generals screamed their orders into Damien's ears. The only thing was....the radio was turned off. He was at least 10 miles from the Dam, what the hell had just caused him to shake ? "No...They could not have taken the Dam already." Damien thought as he switched the radio on to hear screaming then silence. He listened at he changed frequency to speak to an NCR official at the Dam, only ending up with silence. Damien then closed the radio and attached it back to his belt, command at the Dam was wiped out entirely. The Legion were now on the front door of the Mojave, and are likely going to kick that door down to assume control of the entire area. Damien turned around to face the group. "We need to go....NOW!" Damien said before picking up his pace in a jog towards the Dam.
John strolled casually towards the Dam at the head of the Legion army, where he was quickly greeted by Legionaires who had attacked the Dam from behind shoving a captured General Lee Oliver towards him. "L-Legion s-scum..." He grunted as he was forced to kneel before John. "Now now, Mister Oliver, that is no way to talk to the man who represents the NCR's only chance at peace with the Legion. Oh, and also the man who will decide your life or death." John warned him, "Now, I'm going to give you two options, two very simple options; A): agree to a peace treaty that ends this war right here, with the simple terms of the NCR retreating back to the Long 15 Outpost just past the Mojave outpost, the official border outside The Mojave will be the Colorado, and NCR citizen can come to Vegas any time they wish, or B): you can refuse and die right now, and the war will continue until the NCR agrees to end the war on my terms. Choose carefully." Oliver chuckled, "I see you're at least somewhat sensible, unlike your last Caesar, but those terms are still outrageous! We've been fighting for this land for years now, and you expect us to just "give up?" You're insane!" John made a tsk'ing sound, "And here I thought you would be willing to avoid more unnessacary deaths! Face it Oliver, your army's ruined. The NCR couldn't possibly even hope to fight my Legion as it is now. Now, I will give you one last chance...." John said as he drew out Lucky and pressed it against Oliver's head, "Accept the damn treaty you moron." Oliver stared at the pistol for a good long time, "Fine..." He whispered at last, "You win..." John smirked then reholstered Lucky, "Good choice. Cut him loose." John said, "Now, you will take your radio, and announce your surrender for the whole Mojave to hear." Oliver swallowed hard and drew out his emergency radio slowly, "Attention to...all on this frequency...We have been...defeated by the Legion....All NCR forces....Immediately withdraw from the Mojave...And await further instruction....at Outpost Long 15..." He said into it. "Good job Oliver, now, you are free to go." John said, and Oliver instantly turned tail and ran after being released. John smiled and strolled across the entire length of the Dam, pausing right before stepping onto the road off the Dam, "I left the Reaper...I return as a Caesar." He said proudly to himself, then planted foot on the other side.
Forge ran along side Damien, which was a great work out if you ask the right guy. "So," Forge said running and trying to catch his breath, "How are we gonna drive out the Legion from the dam?"
Niza was now frothing a little like a rabid dog, tired of hearing about Legion's successes. She got out her assault carbine and started sprinting. "By killing each and everyone one of them prehistoric bastards who steps on this side of the Colorado!"
Damien let Niza run past with her rifle, letting her figure out the dozen miles between her and the dam. Soon, bodies of NCR troopers began to appear like daises growing from the ground. First, there were as little as two, then ten, then twenty. Eventually, they found themselves at a cliff overlooking the now Legion occupied Hoover Dam, hiding behind what remained of a hill. They needed a high vantage point, it would serve as a purpose of what Damien was thinking. "The entire Legion at the Fort is traveling across the Dam as we speak. We are looking upon 25.7% of the Entire occupying Legion force, with much more of them traveling from the Fort alongside very important Centurions of the Legion. Attacking them at our current state, with nothing more than our rifles and Forge's Super-Sledge is suicidal due to the obvious numerical advantage." Damien said, smiling as he took a Grenade Launcher from a dead NCR trooper. "Lucky for us, we are going to trim the fat." Damien pulled out a strange black cylinder, with a simple white skull and crossbones decal to alert the user of it's extreme danger. "The AN-2051 model 0531 incendiary grenade was manufactured during the Resource Wars. This model in my hands was going to phase out that model entirely. This is the AN-2077 model Incendiary grenade, nicknamed "Firebird" during it's production. It's a simple incendiary grenade with several important twists. One, this burns hotter then the damn sun for the first three seconds after detonation, able to reach a temperature of 9000 degrees Celsius upon the first second of detonation. Anything nearby is vaporized entirely, and those in a fifty meter radius die instantly. Two, it's a cluster bomb. If we shoot this along the road amongst the Dam, it can burn more Legionaries at a quicker rate. And finally Three, the gas used in the previous model spreads amongst a large radius. The fire will spread from Legionary to Legionary quick enough to at least turn the road below into a mile of hellfire within twenty seconds" Damien said while loading the grenade into the launcher. "Before this would have been used by the United States military, the great war happened. Now, only a handful of these exist and are highly sort after by the Brotherhood." Damien then took aim at the front center of the Legion forces, unaware of his presence. "All hell is about to break lose. Those who survive are the ones we can wipe out ourselves." Damien said before speaking to himself quietly. "I'm sorry John....." Damien then stood up and shot the launcher before yelling "Peribit in aeternum!" (Perish amongst Eternity!), quickly reloading with a second grenade seemingly like the wind and shooting another one at the center of the marching army.
Forge had a huge smile across his face, and the weird thing was that he only heard of those types of grenades. He tried to craft one himself, but the ending, didn't test well. He watched as two grenades were launched. Forge was wide eyed and bushy tailed, or really REALLY excited rather. "Damien, if you have one of those left after the war, do you mind if I can have it?" Forge asked calmly and somewhat quietly.
"Sure, go ahead." Damien said, chucking over a grenade. "Just point it at the right direction and you'll be fine." (Also, Happy New Year )
John was suddenly forced to stumble forward as an explosion happened right behind him, growling menacingly as he recovered he wiped out his sniper and started scanning quickly as the Legion behind him started to pepper the surrounding hills with gunfire as they realized what was going on, charging forward. John grimaced as he saw a familiar figure at the top of the hill, "Well well...found a grenade launcher..." He muttered before getting down on a new, letting out a breath, then carefully squeezed the trigger, send a 30-06 round slamming into the grenade launcher. Immediately, he ran up to hill, yelling Damien's name, telling him to stop, and that he wanted to talk. (it's just now the 31st here xP)
With huge amounts of gunfire slamming into Damien's entire body as the Legion noticed him as a threat, the amount of chaos he had created already took it's toll. Large amounts of legion were dead, but not enough to even cause a dent. Damien just stood where he remained, all the rounds the Legion fired serving as warning shots. Damien turned around to face John, and whatever he had to say, it better have been good. The Demon was absolutely furious. "Speak Caesar." Damien simply stated in a very cold tone, his right hand on his gladius if the Legion Leader got any ideas.
(Waitwaitwait, what is going on? I don't think we're on the same page here dude...also, how does two shots from a single grenade launcher wipe out the entire Legion force?) (Crim, that still makes NO SENSE, like, at ALL. How does TWO incendiary grenades cause an ENTIRE ARMY that's SPREAD OUT to erupt in flames?!?! That just DOES NOT HAPPEN) - - Auto Merge - - (Try this: rewrite the post WITHOUT THE UNREALISTIC AND IMPOSSSIBLE BURNING OF AN ENTIRE ARMY and listen to what John has to say. I'm pretty sure you'll like it.)
(The grenades are cluster bombs that pack enormous amounts of range when they detonate alongside the amount of heat they produce. If aimed at the right angle, let's say about 53 degrees or so, the cluster bombs are much more effective as they can attack from a further range. With the main bomb itself vaporizing anything within 50 meters due to the heat (It would be like looking at a nuke), the cluster bombs would still detonate (With far less force but still extremely damaging). I've noticed how the grenades produce the dark red/orange smoke in the game and went ahead to use that as a gas styled ignition source that helps with more range. With these effects and the amount of legion on the dam, the fire would spread like crazy and therefore trap the soldier's. ) (If it sounds unrealistic, i'll change it within a heart-beat. Also, I don't think we were on the same page.
(Crim. Listen to yourself. Do you really think a simple grenade launcher could do that? No. Not even Fallout 3's Expriemental MIRV could do that, seriously. The type of weapon you're suggesting would need to be plane dropped in order to make sense. Just...Listen to John, no "killing to whole Legion army" or anything like that. John is literally about to allow you to go kill Lanius)
(Just tried to experiment with something. Sorry about that, I sounded quite stupid. I must be really tired, i seem to dribble about things when I lack sleep. Other then that, lead the way buddy .) - - Auto Merge - - Fixing post now.
(Oh, sorry if I sounded rude guys, I was dead tired, verge of passing out...) "I am not Caesar." John simply replied, "Anyways, I come to you with a proposition; You see, with the NCR's army all but destroyed in the Mojave outside McCarren, you are looking at the Mojave's only chance for full peace, and the only chance to turn the Legion away from it's genocidal, enslaving self. I intend to transform the Legion, turn it into a respectable nation, and begin peaceful with the NCR. But, I know all of that likely highly bores you so I'm just going to cut to chase: Legate Lanius has arrived, and from my scout's reports, he intends to challenge my rule, and try to kill me, thus ending this great chance for the Legion. I hereby grant the three of you permission to travel to his camp and kill him and his entourage of troops. And, in case any of you are interested, I offer all three of y'all high ranking positions in whatever you want to help me move the Legion to something better. That is all."
Forge moved close to Damiens ear, "Should we trust him? I mean, sounds like a deal but still, what if they kill us while we're not looking?" Forge asked. Forge still held his varmint rifle, just incase any "mistakes" happen. He had never trusted the Legion, but knew if there was one way to destroy them, then it would be from the inside out.
Damien then looked at Forge as he turned to face him. "If they try such a thing, it will be their fault. Not ours." Damien then sighed deeply before facing John. "I have been fighting the Legion for over Four years, murdering all of those responsible for the murder of my own wife. Edward is dead, but he has impacted far too many lives." Damien said before looking at John. "I'm not NCR, but my father is. If I joined you, then it would be High Treason. Everybody would be after us. But considering that you and me are some of the deadliest people alive, we can take them. Unfortunately..." Damien then stood for a moment relaxing on his own thoughts, pacing himself before offing his hand out for a handshake. "I will join you. ONLY if we can reform the Legion into something wonderful."
