Ah well, it was inevitable. Somehow I knew it would happen, but it did.

Two of my best friends on XBL, whose names I won't tell here for the sake of their privacy, were complete jerks (To say the least) to me the past 3 or 4 weeks.
So, taking matters into my own hands, I sent them a message saying if they can't respect me any more, I can't keep them on the list.
So, after those messages were sent, I get 3 messages.
    Message #1:goodbye, *squee!*! Response: I'm a cigar?
Message #2 (Same person): You r dead to me at this point! Response: Ah, well, I'm alive to myself. That's all that matters.

Message #3 (Different Person): You've been kind of an :derpe:hole lately. Response: Tell that to (Person #1), since he can't take my personality with a grain of salt.
If you can't handle who I am, I am in no circumstances welcome to keep you on the list. Goodbye.

Now, they weren't hating me based on my Bronydom. They were being complete jerks because I had opinions of my own and they were trampling all over them.
While it could have been avoided, I'm sorry to say that they are no longer on the List, and they have been blocked from my communications. Perhaps they will learn respect sometime in the near future.
I'm actually quite heartbroken how for nearly 3 years they've been on my List, and then these last few weeks have turned into nothing but a sh*tstorm.
Goodbye, "Friends". If one of you are somehow on this site, I'm not sorry. Learn some respect, and you will recieve it in turn.

    That's a shame...all this because of "ponies"?

Even though they were three year old friends, they kinda are not-so "best" friends anymore...

I'm assuming they were IRL friends? If so, are they under 18 or the same age as you?

Also, they are just bashing because they haven't even tried watching the show itself.

Hope you get a new PS3, and add me. Tales of Graces f. Woohoo!
    _____________________

Mainly the console gamers differ from people who generally don't play games that much or at least go on PC more than console.

Just like me for example. I simply play MW2 on PS3, just for the lolz, and these young kids assume I'm a girl because of my PSN (NyanNyanNakano). Anyways since I don't have a mic, they all add me and think I'm a real good girl gamer.

At least they were being a little nice to me, compared to what most kids on consoles say.

    :Trollestia:

...and when I play on PC. Where I have a mic, and play with my clan and such on an old FPS. We are talking with other friends and people that are normally older.

Anyways, you still have us Saikyo.

    P.S: Get on Ventrilo.
P.S.S: Real friends are the ones who don't talk shift to you. (Yes, "shift".)

Well there is always two sides to the coin and Losing good friends over a small matter is never worth it.

However, if the matter was a bigger issue, and there was no way or will to resolve differences, and they truly were jerks, then Friends who caanot treat you with respect and kindness are not really friends at all.

At any rate, I'm sorry to hear it. I'm in a similar situation, although it's more "drifting apart" than "breaking apart."

    You are completely correct.
It was a bigger issue, by the way. They were insulting me and my family and my religious beliefs. I don't mind the religious beliefs bit, because everyone is entitled to their opinion...
But don't F:derpe: with my family. Ever. Saying "I want to meet your wife, where is she" is extremely inappropriate, (And yes, I know for sure that he meant it in a completely inappropriate way) for one thing, and for the other point, it's my wife.
Threatening to break into my house and steal my possessions based on my religious belief is also wrong.
    Is that a "Small Matter"?

Insulting someone is the quickest way to lose a friend.
    Being a d:derpe: is too.
They may have been joking, but after about 8 weeks of that sh*t and me repeatedly telling (Person #1) to stop with the sexual innuendo and jokes, I put my foot down.
Nobody insults my family. You can insult me, but never them.

That sucks Saikyo, sorry to hear that. Losing friends is a horrible thing to go through, I know that too well. If there cannot be a mutual understanding and respect between "friends", it is not worth it. I wish I had an Xbox, I'd be happy to take their place if you so desired...

Easiest Ways To Lose A Gaming Friend / Friend in General:
-Insult Family (or "Yo Mama" jokes...hate these type of jokes.)
    -Being a D-bag.
    -If they complain a lot.
    -A lot of other reasons...

This has happened to me at least once IRL, and I was glad I made the right choice to kick him out of my house.

Anyways, everything should be alright since your removed/blocked them.

    *Stares at Zephyr's PSN Rank/Trophies...*

Jelly...for a number beside your PSN name.

Anyways, Saikyo should join us on PSN, and play Tekken or something.

I'm more worried about the repurcussions of this rather than the actual un-friending.
A ton of people on my list were friends with #1 and 2, so I'm a bit worried what they will say to the others once they get online and such.
Then again, I DO think that they are above slander... but anything is possible.

    Seriously?

Anyway, DRD is right however, it is a shame it had to come to that. Judging by the fact that they were your friends for 3 years, it must be hard to see them act like that. However, although I don't completely understand the situation, it does sound as if you did the right thing. Can't say I wouldn't have done something relatively similar myself.

Mah, i never cared much for people on xbox live. In my experience, that community has proven to be worthless.

    Here was the situation.
They were insulting me, my family, my intelligence, my religion (I could really care less about the religion part though), my past, and my future.
    Is that enough?
Yes, except I knew them personally. That's what pisses me off. They were old college buddies. One moved to California, the other to Canada.

You do know I already edited it... not to mention as soon as I see a thread with 0 posts/views. I'm normally one of the first ones.

Anyways, losing friends that have been your friends for three years.

Although you do lose friends, you make it up by gaining new friends such as us.

There's no need to worry about people like them- they obviously didn't treasure your friendship much, so why let their disrespect bother you so much?
If they don't respect your opinions, and treat you like jerks, then there is no point to keeping them on your list to begin with.
Well, I'm sorry to hear of this nonetheless... but people like that, are best not to be friends with in my opinion.
It can be quite... irritating, and even nasty to have people who call themselves your "friends", and act in a completely different manner.
And additionally... hmm. Which games? I don't know much about the Xbox/Ps3 controls and sort, only having even played a Xbox once.
But I do know of the games... maybe once my dad gets to fixing our broken 360, I'll bore you with my noobiness.

@DRD Well, if they were friends for three years, it must not have been an easy task to just drop them and declare any of us as his "bestest buddies".

Again, the fact that makes me so sad/angry is that they were PERSONAL friends.
They were friends from college, and they respected me and cared for what I had to say.
And they didn't crack jokes about my wife. #2 never did insult my wife, but he did insult me and my family.
Personally, I'm a bit sad now. 2 of my best friends, of whom we did everything in college together, suddenly turning into d*cks...
It hurts me. It makes my heart ache.
No offense to any of you, but they were the best friends I ever had.
Then they turn on me and insult me.
New "BF" title goes to You guys. All of you.
Like I said, they weren't insulting me because of Ponies. They were fine with that.
Read the... I think it was... the... hmmm.... 8th or 9th line, it says it there.

Gotta' be careful with them generalities, Rarit. And, having never been on xbox live, I can't comment.

Three at once does, indeed, suck. And people who drop you because you're not friends with A, B, and C - well, they weren't much of friends, really. Too many times I've been forced to choose friends, because new friend doesn't like old friend. Usually new friend lost that battle.

But, people can surprise you. Back when I played D&D with a group, we had two friends who joined. Friend A was pleasant, and a good gamer. Friend B was not. At all. But we tolerated him because we didn't want to loose Friend A. Finally, something happened and I had enough and told him not to come here anymore (the games were at our house). I don't really even remember what happened, to be honest. But, Friend A admitted Friend B was a jerk, and understood us kicking him out, and stayed with us for a while longer.

So, you might be pleasantly surprised. If not, well, there's not much you can do about it, is there? Just don't stew in your emotions too much.

Like I said in my previous post, I'm pretty sure they meant a lot to you. I'm not sure if I'm worthy of "BF" status, but I'll try my best. :)

I know I would've done the same if I was in that situation. If someone insults my family, there would be hell to pay.

    we're always here for you.
true friends should never insult you or make you feel bad. They should always be loyal to you, and know where it's limit of joking, and if you say that they have passed that limit, they should stop.
I don't have a clue what could have turned people who were your "friends" for so long time to such mean people... only logical thing would be that they wanted to "proof" in some group, and well, if showing off is more important for them than friendship, then you're better without them.
    *hugs tightly*

I'm one of those guys that attempts to be calm no matter what the problem. If I realise somepony/friend is being a fool, and it's come to be realised that the only way to sort this out is to break up, then I won't care.

Anyhow, Saiko. Sad to hear you've broken up with your friends. It must be difficult, knowing they were your BEST friends. At least, that's what it sounded like from what you wrote. Not to worry, us lot are here for ya. Including me. Eh, maybe your friends got too caught up in CoD and Halo and generally got sucked into the :derpy: hole-ville that is XBL. Don't you fall into Microsoft's trap now, y'hear?
