What better way to start the weekend than with news that season 5 is already confirmed http://www.equestriadaily.com/2014/01/season-5-confirmed.html
Well, they reserved the timeslots for season 5 at the end of Season 3 after they announced Season 4, so it's not all that surprising.
Plus I remember a tweet of an interview snippet from Daniel Ingram (I think it was him anyway...) saying that the series was gonna go on for at least 5 seasons (this was back in like S3 when I saw it I think). So yea, none of this is exactly super surprising to me. But I guess it's nice to see a more official confirm.
I'm actually kind of waiting for the off-season, personally. It seems the fandom as a whole is at its whiniest/most polarized while the show is airing, then steps back and gives the episodes they were disappointed with as a result of overhyping a fair chance. But w00t for moar ponee!
Except that in terms of the whining it's usually the opposite. OMFGTWILIGHTISAPRINCESSWHATDO was the highlight of the last off-season.
I don't ever want the show to end, but in all honesty, I believe that Season 5 is the best way to end it. If a show stays for too long, it eventually loses it's charm, and we do NOT want that to happen to MLP. Who else here agrees???
That's not necessarily true. I can think of at least one long-running show that's still as good as ever...
True that. However, I just believe that season 5 would be the best ending possible. Give it an epic final battle, a finale, an amazing song, wrap up the story, boom. That's just my opinion though.
They could for example wrap up the story after season 4 or 5, and then continue the series with different main characters and put the current main characters in somewhat of an elevated background. Or grown-up CMC's + some new characters.
I think as long as they cycle in new writers as they've been doing, it should hopefully stay refreshed with new ideas. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
