I thoroughly enjoyed that episode. Derpy was cute, as was Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps pairing. I'm surprised there wasn't a song but I'm not sure where it would of fit. I'm glad the plot of the Equestria Games is moving on and I'm guessing Spitfire's Badge is a key for the Mystery Box. Overall 8 out of Ten
Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps were great. Spitfire and Fleetfoot are getting worse and worse. I don't like them at all anymore. Soarin was great though, I feel sorry for him now though... :/ Pinkie Pie and the cheerleader ponies were great. Twilight Sparkle was disappoint and rightfully so. Also, is it me or does Rainbow Dash seem to learn the same lesson every episode? Didn't she learn this lesson back in the second episode with the Shadowbolts? Four seasons and she's still on lesson one? They handled Derpy perfectly, have her there but not say anything (except her scream which was awesome!) and still have her great personality shine through. I liked the episode despite Rainbow Dash. Twilight Sparkle is showing her maturity so much better now, the way she showed her disappointment and made RD learn her lesson (AGAIN) was the right way for her to do it.
I liked it...a lot! Dashie proves her loyalty and earns her key (bit confused though, first looked like it was gonna be the flag, but then changed to the lead pony badge? eh whatev), an official name for my least liked pony, AJ the muffin pusher, more Fluttershy abuse as she gets squished over and over (seriously I just wana give that pony a hug). The Equestria games continues (love that they kept that plot going, instead of making it a stand alone story), Wonderbolt goodness, Fleetfoot speaks, cheerleader Pinkie (a perfect fit), rainbow Twilight (do with that what you will), and last but not least an epic return of Derpy. Another good'un for sure, just out of curiosity though, how many episodes start with Rainbow Dash grumbling? On second thought never mind, it gives me another thinly veiled excuse to watch the series over.
This was a really good episode not only did Derpy return but so did Soarin and I like Bulk Biceps formerly known as either Roid Rage or Snowflake.
It was funny how insane people (myself included) went when Derpy appeared. I was watching a Livestream, and the chat was so flooded that nobody could post for about minute afterwards.
^ Same Here. Me and my sister were watching a stream and when Derpy appeared for a good few minutes, we were both speechless. I'm glad they brought her back this season :derpe:
TOO MANY PANDA'S WERE THROWN!!! But seriously, I really enjoyed this one, second favourite of the season. I might just be blinded by fangasm but I really had a good time. Horrah for continity with the rainbow items, it building to something not just some random gag! RD faced a pretty legit conflict in this one and it was amazing. Nothing else can be said, this was just another great one! 9.5/10 PS. OMGOMGOMGOMGOG DERPY WOOHOO!!!!!!!
The same thing happened to me while I was also watching the episode on t.v. at the same time, that's right I watch new episodes on my t.v. and via livestream at the same time.
i like how dash is so close to being a wonderbolt but falls back on loyalty to here friends instead of going for her self. -
LOST MY SH... Uhhh... STUFFINGS WHEN DERPY APPEARED!!! So we got a Dashie episode with a little Derpage and a good moral. I know it was the same thing she learned in E2 but the fact that it happened so long ago still doesn't make the decision any easier now IMO. Especially since the circumstances are not life-or-death like they were back then. Anyhoo loved it!!!! 10/10!! Also, anyone notice that Soarin's voice was the same as Maz from SheZow?
Is nobody going to talk about how Spitfire and Fleetfoot reached Bon Bon levels of b*tchiness in this episode? Seriously, they were all set to replace Soarin, their fellow Wonderbolt and supposed friend, once Rainbow Dash came along. Not cool, ladies. Not cool.
Also, starting to see a pattern... Flut gets fangs, Vern gets a spool of thread, Dashie gets a Wonderbolts pin... OK maybe the fangs are just a comedic device but as for the other 2, I'm thinking that the keys are disguised as objects that would be meaningful to the mane 6... kinda like Voldemort's horcruxes.
When I saw Derpy I flipped out. I am still beaming. AAAAAAAAAH. Anyone ship Bulk Biceps with Fluttershy? I mean. Think about it. Think. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH. I think I shall periodically put "AHHHHHHHHHHHH" in everywhere.
I hope that Fluttershy's fangs turn out to be one of the keys! Imagine, if you will, Flutterbat trying to gnaw the box open.
I wish Rainbow Dash would stop having to learn the same lesson over and over again. I wish they'd challenge her with something else for a lesson. I enjoyed the episode though. I would have liked if they had Bulk Biceps name as Snowflake, I think that would have been funnier. I was almost expecting Derpy and Soarin to join the Ponyville team. It was sweet that Derpy was part of the episode though, she's so adorable.
I thought they pulled the lesson off alright in this one, until they made it about Dash wanting to win rather than about her having to choose between Cloudsdale where she was born and Ponyville where her friends are. Seriously, we saw that issue when Discord tricked her into leaving his "game" back in the premier of season 2. On top of that she shouldn't have had to fake an injury and prolong her decision and have been able to choose ponyville when the decision needed to be made. That's my issue with the lesson, as for the rest of the episode, Bulk Biceps was great, that was a great name and seeing him actually be a character was really wonderful. I think we need to have more side characters play important roles as long as they *stay* side characters. They really pulled it off well here, it'd be interesting to see them do it again with other standout background ponies. Seeing Derpy was great, I was reminded of Fluffle Puff when she screamed (perhaps an intentional shoutout to the fandom on top of bringing her back at all). I kind of want to call her Ditzy as was originally intended for her name because of the slight negative connotations "Derpy" has as a name. I was irritated and confused to see the stopwatch so prominent in the race, but I suppose that could be explained by Cloudsdale and Ponyville being together in one part of the qualification process and all other teams had gone already, making it the time of the slowest team to qualify so far making it the time that either Cloudsdale or Ponyville had to beat in order to qualify. I do think it would have been better to see the other competitors, though. The return of the Rainbow that told Rarity what to do in Manehattan clearly foreshadows the key pieces being the items obtained in these past two episodes, which is really exciting. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the season.
Bad quality, but you basically want to do this Just get frozen for a day. I thought this episode was awesome though. Typical RD trying to back out of stuff she can't handle.
your avatar...goes so perfectly with the music i'm listening to right now... As for the episode, I liked it. the ending felt a lil rushed to me but i liked it otherwise. Also DERPY!!!:derpe:
