Hello and let me introduce a possible new event for next month: The 'February is Boring' Giveaway [Fancy Title Pending] The idea is that a prize draw of a few nice games will be given out by me and Unity in 'Let's Play Thursday' every week for the entirety of February to brighten everything up. Isn't that nice of us? To end it, I thought it would be fun to try and do a 'Let's Riff' thing where we all sit down and watch a movie together while ripping the ever-loving, strawberry-flavoured icing out of it! Due to fear of legal action, we've had to cut down the pool of possible films. We can't have giants in the field of 'So Bad it's Good' movies that would have making jokes at it's expense easy like 'The Room' or 'Troll 2' because Wiseau Films and MGM might get cross. If Wiseau Films attacked TGWTG.com, they're hardly going to leave us alone if they find out. You don't want to know about the football-shaped bruises Doug Walker received when he refused to take his review down the first time round. I hear they were smartly dressed though... So, we're down to Public Domain movies. All of these are free and available. Even to you guys. The ones we have narrowed it down to are: - Ed Wood's Classic, Plan 9 from Outer Space - Straight from your MST3K memories, Manos: The Hands of Fate - It's almost as ho-ho-horrific as this pun, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians If you can think of any other film we could feature, please detail it below. Otherwise, please vote and tune in next month...hopefully.
I honestly don't know any of said movies, and i don't know any movies myself that would be both site-safe and free. That said, if my timezone and schedule allow me to be there, i will be. :derpe: Edit: I do know of Assassin's Creed Lineage, but i wouldn't call it a movie exactly since it's only about 35 minutes long. It is free to watch though.
I heard the first one in Chat last night. I looked it up and it seemed pretty bad. Also looked up sharknado...
I've heard of Sharknado, but i don't know if it would be a very appropriate movie to show on EP. I'm guessing they'll have to be rated 13 or older.
Oh, I guess that I didn't check the rating of the movie. I just checked what it looked like. Note: 300th post
I might have heard of Plan 9 but it doesn't really sound familiar, I don't remember Manos from the MST3K riff... maybe I haven't watched it yet... That Santa one sounds really stupid though, so I bet it would be good to watch. ^^ I'd love to join in. :3
As much as I want to see Plan 9, gonna have to go with Santa Claus Conquers the Martians cause Santa and stuff.
All of the choices were ripped apart by the MST3K gang, Manos is definitely the worst of the 3. And I say that as a financial sponsor of Manos: The Search for Valley Lodge. see Torgolives.com Bela Lugosi died during filming of Plan 9 which contributed it to being so horrible they reuse the same shot of him exiting the forest about a 100x Santa v Martians is just hilarious I'm good with all 3 personally throwing a vote for Santa cause its christmasy
