After an early Google Play release, it didn't take long for the episode to appear on Dailymotion. If you haven't seen it yet, stop reading now. ... Good. Now that the peasants are gone, let's talk about how great this episode was! Another look at Appleloosa, plenty of new songs, evidence that Bon Bon is related to Twist, magical bigger-on-the-inside saddlebags appearing in the same episode as Doctor Whooves, bilingual Pinkie, Derpy everywhere, and a flashback scene with filly Derpy. Plus, another key for the Mystery Box Of Plot Importance, and the biggest Fourth Wall breaks in MLP history.
Okay, I take back what I said about last week's episode being the best. This episode made me smile soooooooo~ much. Weird Al. I love you with every fiber of my being Also, lots of Derpy~!! <3 MLP Writers, you are so great. Thank you for making me feel like a kid again, despite still technically being a minor :derpe:
Loved it loved it loved it. Weird Al was amazing and, not surprisingly, was a perfect match for Pinkie Pie. And oh god so much singing, but all of it fun and entertaining. All of Weird Al's stuff was polka, unsurprisingly. The only way it could have been better is if Andrew WK made an appearance as a pony like Weird Al did. xD Quite possibly my favorite episode of the season. My one negative observation (and this is just me) is that I felt Pinkie got a little too depressed too quickly in the beginning, and none of the mane 6 (except for the lovely Princess Twilight) showed any concern for her odd behavior. I was also confused about her leaving town at the end. I mean, Cheese Sandwich is a traveling party planner, so even if he won the right to throw this party, he would leave right after. Maybe she didn't know that. I really related to Cheese's past of being shy then trying to get in the spotlight. That part didn't last long for me and now I'm back to shy, but I'm working on putting myself out there a bit more in the form of Ookami Den. Well anyway, a spectacular episode reminiscent of older seasons and really captured the spirit of the show well. And with that, let the Cheese Pie shipping commence.
Omg I loved this episode! Can we just talk about the doctor who references? Saying Geronimo, Cheese Sandwich wearing a fez! Also having Doctor Whooves appear in this episode! I also loved all the derpy in this episode as well! And when he said " My little Pony! " I was like HE SAID THE THING!!! Now that I got all that out of my system let's talk episode. I loved having Weird Al in this episode. I think Cheese Sandwich and Pinkie Pie might be my new OTP! Honestly I thought throughout the episode that Pinkie Pie was going to turn into the Psyco Pinkie. I believed that Ballad that Pinkie Pie sang, omg it was just ahh, I can't explain it I just loved it. The Goofball off song made me laugh though when it changed from 2d animation to real life. I think I nearly darn pissed my pants. I really like this episode, this has to be the best episode in season 4 by far!
Why is it that that most of the episodes that have moved me to tears, sad tears not tearing up from laughing so hard, have come from Pinkie Pie episodes? Hearing the sad crack in Pinkie's voice on that one line had me crying and wishing I could break the fourth wall myself to go and comfort her. This has to be one of my favorite episodes this season and possibly in the series.
I loved every moment of the episode especially the character Cheese Sandwich voiced by Weird Al Yankovich and all of the multiple songs in the episode.
This episode made me so happy! That's all I have to say; I'm still riding the new episode high, so I'll probably be back later to say more, but until then.
Have to say the build-up was kind of slow and the overkill of songs was a bit forgetable. The writers don't seem to get the idea that putting too many songs in one episode not only kills the episode a little bit, but no one will remember the songs either. However, that finale was a perfect combination of Weird Al and Pinkie Pie, worthy of remembrance! *streamers and confetti out of friggin nowhere* By the way, has anyone realized we finally have a canon age for one of the Mane 6 now? Count the candles, she's 21! :3 Also, CHOCOLATE DERPY FOUNTAIN!! And for those who didn't catch it: Filly Derpy at 18:25
Easily a favorite this season. The songs were great and I was kept entertained throughout the whole thing. The part with Gummy made me crack up pretty good, that completely caught me off guard. Good job to the writers on this one!
That is, of course, if there aren't any candles on the sides or rear of the cake. If there are, then the candles are just decoration and not an indication of age.
I dunno. I didnt really like the "live" versions of Gummy and Boneless in a cartoon like this. Reminded me too much of what they do in Spongebob Squarepants all the time. Not that Spongebob is a bad cartoon, but it just didn't fit well, imo. Unless she actually is around 40.
Yeah, I suppose that's true. I guess because of it being rather obnoxiously placed was why I giggled at it. Dunno, I tend to find humor in the dumbest of things usually. :derpe: And it was then that RD fans ceased to exist. Not that I would complain.
I really liked the episode. Pinkie's facial expressions were great! So many emotions throughout just one episode. They did a really good job progressing through the story in this one, using the songs and the visuals. Weird Al was great and you could tell he really enjoyed being a part of this episode. You could tell that Daniel Ingram and Weird Al worked together well in the songs on this episode. Pinkie was back to being Pinkie, in all her forms! The ONLY thing that disappointed me was Rainbow Dash, she STILL can't figure out that she should be loyal to her friends?!? Didn't we just do this a few episodes ago?
I gotta say... I'm not looking forward to art of this episode. Bahahahahahahahaha! I loved every second of it! Weird Al made this amazing!
This episode, like the entire season so far, is amazing. The songs are freakin' great. I never thought I'd ever see a fellow OC ReMixer (Steffan Andrews) work with Weird Al. I loved all of the Spaghetti Western references as well.
I'll be honest, I barely knew anything about Al Yankovic before this episode but he seems a very talented guy with the sheer amount of songs that were in this. I loved the episode and is definitely in my top 3 this season. My only problem is the extreme fourth wall breaks with the Real Life Alligator and Rubber Chicken, It just seemed a little out of place and broke the immersion. That aside, Derpy's Chocolate moment was great and the songs were all great, especially the "Make A Wish" song which sounded very electronic. Overall 8 out of 10.
