I always thought I did a decent Satan XD, but thank you nonetheless. You gonna be on Skype or Ventrilo today?
I'm one of those special people called ANIMATORS. Ooooooooo... But really, keeping a job in the industry (unless you're a godlike being like our dear Ms. Faust, Pendleton Ward, Seth MacFarlane, or Matt Groening and can do whatever the heck you'd like) is ÜBERhard, so I'll be lucky to get a good stream of digital art, graphic design, or other art-y offers along the way. Right now I'm working on my thesis film (it consumes my souuuul) and applied to grad school, so we'll see what happens soon enough.
I'm gonna be roommates with an animator when i get to Canada for school, we're probably gonna do a lot of silly things together because of my love of doing voice work XD
Possibly. No guarantees though. Anyway, if you're on either one, I'll see/hear you. I guess we should stop chatting on here, huh? Heh. Sorry, everypony.
When i grow up, i want to be Lauren Faust. Seriously though, i would quite like to work for a games company like Valve or Bethesda, writing or composing. Game music is awesome and needs more wuv <3
I like this pony. He is smart. Bethesda make amazing game music, i nerded a little when i heard the Skyrim trailers music.
Nerded a little? A LITTLE?! This is how I reacted XD: I can't wait for this game and the theme song is amazing XD
I know what you mean, especially since I'm a History Major surrounded by people who couldn't care less about history. I really don't understand sometimes. =/
Me either I just do not get it. "If we fail to understand history then we are doomed to repeat it." I know thats a quote from somewhere just cant remember. Here's a fun thing to do if you have friends like those around simply ask "On what two consecutive occasions has history repeat itself?" the answers are both military encounters that happened years apart I can tell you the answers if you want me to or you can take a whack at it.
I have certain career goals in mind. They have changed in the last year or so, no thanks to events that came in between me and the ones I already had set - what you're seeing here is my "Plan B". I realize that my education is crucial to the kind of career I would want to take - I also have the intention to go back to school and study different things to give myself a greater avenue of experiences. But essentially, I will first try to get something quick in the field of computer science with a programming focus, then maybe a couple of years later I'll try my hand at engineering. Pretty much anything that has to do with technology or energy will be something that I will try to get into, as both have fascinated me for a long time and I know they're things I can both enjoy and excel in. There are other goals I have completely unrelated to this career, such as my intention to publish an original work of some kind and start a small business. I'm quite ambitious and a large part of me wants to be defined by the kind of work I do - a big thing being "make a difference" or "change something". That owes onto other goals and insecurities of mine, but that won't be discussed here or anytime soon... ...Currently, I am unemployed, but I've been job-hunting for almost three weeks now without much success. I do have the goal of getting *something* before the month is through, though - my first job options may not take account for what I can do, but I've got to start somewhere. If all else fails, I will most certainly enlist myself into some military branch to make myself useful. I have natural talents that would also make me adept at writing, broadcasting, and acting, although I also understand that I'll have to refine these things if I want to make a profession out of it. I may be a 'technical' person at heart, but I've also got a creative spark that refuses to stand on the sidelines.
Honestly? I agree with you, I'd probably be much happier writing... but I gotta do something to pay to survive right now, and a job in programming is the one I have in mind.
Why can't you do both, Foxytail? Help come up with the story, and then utilize your programming skills to implement that story. As for my career goals, I'm hoping for a career that blends healthcare and technology. I've got an Associate of Applied Science degree and certification in radiologic technology (a fancy name that means I take x-rays). I haven't been able to find any jobs locally, sadly. So my professors recommended I take some online courses in healthcare informatics. There are many different areas under healthcare informatics, but the big push that the field is trying to do is getting hospitals to make patient records completely electronic. TL;DR version: I want a career in one of the many fields of diagnostic imaging or in one of the many areas of healthcare informatics.
Dr. Whooves, Rashall - Meet me, Dwynter. I also love history, and am surrounded by people that don't. We should form a club. Also, it was George Santayana that said, "If we fail to understand history then we are doomed to repeat it." The whole quote goes: "Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." He also said: "Happiness is the only sanction of life; where happiness fails, existence remains a mad and lamentable experiment." And, to keep this on topic: "It is not society's fault that most men seem to miss their vocation. Most men have no vocation."
I like the idea of a club! Hahaha but I'm glad I'm not alone. @Rashall - I'm not sure about the answer to your question. Care to enlighten me? =]
Napoleon invades Russia during his reign as emperor only to be stopped spitting distance from his objective of Moscow. While retreating the Russians used scorched earth tactics, burning all fields and housing, thus making Napoleon overstretch his supply lines. Ok now fast foreword to World War II Hitler tries the same thing that Napoleon did and the same mistakes plague him all along the route, and as in Napoleon's case the Russian Winter forces him to retreat. The other two cases happened to the United States. The attack at Pearl Harbor lead us into World War two, just as 9/11 lead us to go to war with Afghanistan. Another question, What country tried to take over Afghanistan, before the US got involved? @Dwynter-I would love to make a club also!!!
