As my interest of MLP grew as the creators blow my expectation, I wondered "how far will they go?". Obviously, they'll never go too far out.

I wondered, what if they were to feature blood in an episode. I don't mean all-out-spilling-guts-gory blood, I mean in such a way as bleeding, wounds, or a sign of struggle in the form of either red pony blood or weird alien green. The official comics has shown this sort of indication and some-what directly so why not the show.

What do you all think? You think the odds of the show doing this is likely?

There is quite literally 0 chance of blood. It's a children's show to the strictest definition of the word. In case you didn't notice, the few times ponies fight or get beaten up, they don't even get bruised.

I have to agree with dreamer. I doubt there will be any blood in the future. Unless the show turns into an adult show, then I would expect it. But the odds of that happening are slim.

Well, blood has been shown in numerous other kids shows, but it would definitely feel out of place in a world of colorful talking happy ponies. I don't think they really need to show any type of blood. What would be the purpose if it anyway?

I don't put too much thought into it. In my opinion they look very complex issues and put a great moral message in them.

I don't see blood ever happening beyond some minor cuts, and even that seems pretty unlikely to pass, at least as far as the show's concerned. Bruises and broken wings are as far as it's gonna go, I'd think.

This shows is willing to push boundaries and I thought bringing Derpy back was a bit ballsy, But I could never imagine Blood in MLP, at least not without Lauren Faust.

I wouldn't say that the writers would hesitate to show blood.
They certainly weren't afraid to hint at it.

You can't forget who created the show.
The same woman that worked on this.

Even if Faust is gone, it's not outside the realm of possibility that the writers might decide to take some cues from her other works.
    Remember this?

There may not be any blood, but it's still a pretty violent end for a cartoon villain.

Are you serious? Her husband made PPG. Faust was a director, along with like 8 others and didn't work on it until early-mid 2001, roughly 2 1/2 years after it began. She's a talented woman but not the god of every show she's touched...as people love to just assume. You can't assume the writers of MLP will just rip the cartoon violence from it just because she was there. There are obvious inspirations between PPG and MLP, and that's all there will be. Yes Sombra's death was flashy and somewhat prolonged (but I have a feeling he might return), and ketchup was used on a toy, but c'mon now...

On screen death, blood and gore in a children's TV show? Certainly such a thing could never happen!

Oh wait. It did, my bad. (Best TV show ever).

I don't think people understand that Hasbro is a household name. They need to be as unoffensive as possible. I would love to have a political satire or a distopian horror show. But honestly it doesn't work for MLP. I'll watch Dan vs. And Colbert For my political satire. Invader Zim and the mass amount of black magic m-66 style anime. FO:E is great, but in the canon show? It won't happen

the blood doesn't have to play a significant role in the story, just a two second shot of a pony (or something) showing signs of real damage.

OH GOD THAT'S GRUESOME! THAT'S NOT REALLY WHAT I HAD IN MIND!

I never said it had to be. I just don't think it would make the show better in anyway if it added blood into it.

actually, I've seen a few shows more dumbfoundedly colorful than 'my little pony' that had at three seconds of blood .For example, 'puppy in my pocket' had an instant when two pocket dogs were fighting and drew blood. It wasn't much, just a little trickled in the air. Hell even Arthur had his **** blown out of him.

but that's what I mean. just a little to show damage. the official comics also show these little signs of damage but that might be because a comic depends a lot on visuals and must show red bruises, scares, and dried scuffs and blood to give a real felling on the characters damage. 'The return of chrysalis' arc and 'celesta's micro series' come to mind regarding this.

I'm not opposed to seeing minor cuts and scratches in the show - after all, when Spike poured ketchup all over a tattered mouse toy, it did heavily imply blood. But I think we can all agree that kids' shows nowadays have been quite defanged in terms of what they can get away with...and keep in mind, we're talking about the same show that got someone up in arms about a cross-eyed horse. I would hope that the show could take more risks now that it's reached syndication, but at the moment, I wouldn't put any money on them showing any significant measure of blood knowing how thin-skinned "concerned parents" can be.
