Welcome bronies, to the very first
    Gay Thread!

I'm not sure how many gay people we have on this forums, but we'll see how long this thread will last.

Have anything you need to get of your chest related to your sexuality?
    Need help coming out?

Well here's a thread for it!

I personally have not yet been able to come out to my parent yet, but I've given a couple of hints.
I think she suspects it, but is afraid to ask me.
I just can't get the courage to tell them, so I really hope she catches on my hints and ask me, it would give me a golden opportunity to come out.

Thank you, we really did need this thread.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay/bi/lesbian. Anyone who says otherwise is a damned fool.

I respect you for what you're trying to do. Thank you for posting this.

I have no problem with people being gay/bi/lesbian. This is your life, don't let anyone bring you down.

Just wanted to post this. It uplifted a lot of people on BronyBase. Hope it does the same here.

^^aww, this image breaks my hearth. I don't wanna so RBD so sad :'(

on topic: I don't have problem with Gay/Lesbian/Bi people. it's personal choice. I have few gay/bi/lesbian frineds online and irl, and I'm ok with them.
Person shouldn't be seen only as Gay/lesbian/bi, but as how person is inside, no mater the sexuality. sexuality are just details (unless you're looking for love relationship, then I make it clear to my gay/bi friends that I'm straight, and there was never any problems)

I'm Co-President of my school's GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance), and I can say one thing that might cheer up Rainbow Dash fans: to GSA Bronies, she is a powerful symbol. Mostly because of the fact that her mane is rainbow-colored, but also because of what she could represent: a strong, self-confident homosexual pony/person, who doesn't let stereotypes about her sexuality get in the way of who she is.

I love Rainbow Dash, and I love my gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered friends. Please continue to support!

I'm looking at that one word.
And I remember this one lady (Whom I will always remember as a woman) who was transgendered.
Her secret got out approximately 3 weeks before senior year ended.
She killed herself about 2 days before graduation.

Things like that happen too often. We really try our best to prevent that, and people can be rather accepting if you let them. But, sometimes the people who are in trouble don't see that, or can't. Or sometimes nobody does anything to help them. Which is the purpose of Prism (my GSA).

    I'm very sorry.

If there should be a family episode, it should center around Spike since the whereabouts of his family is unknown at this point and he probably feels at times left out since he doesn't really have a family, but I know I'm the only brony who asks that question.

I'd also like to see Scootaloo's parents. There could be one where Rainbow Dash finds out the Scootaloo is an orphan or something like that, they bond for thentire episode with events such as Scootaloo learning the basics of flying and Rainbow saving her at one point, to the point where RD thinks about adopting her as a little sister. I think there would by joyness tears galore if that happened.

This. I find some of those traits desirable in women. Hell, I learned how to fix my lawnmower from a girl I used to date in high school. Tomboy =/= lesbian. Maybe it's because I find an attraction to that it but I find it rather unfair to stereotype like that. One of my better friends is a tomboy and she and her husband have known each other for years.

    Quoting Faust herself directly

Nothing whatsoever against gays or lesbians here but stereotyping is generally bad.

I think first I'll warn you all that this thread is open to many flamers, trolls and otherwise other unwanted parasprites, and before you start attacking someone posting on this thread, I think it's only fair to say you open yourself up to it. That doesn't make it any less right or wrong to stand up for yourselves, just remember to show respect in doing so. That being said, it's also a great way to find those kind of people and remove them before they go too far.

With that unpleasant thought aside, I'm quite happy to see a thread like this open up for the open minded, curious and otherwise accepting members of the forum! I respect and admire what you guys are doing here and I do hope this thread gets positive support for those who need it! As community executive, it's good to know that everyone is making sure no one is left out and unhappy!

Much love to you guys and gals that post here, gay, bi, straight, transgendered and everything inbetween!

EDIT: Looking back on the posts, I think it's fair to ask you don't use Rainbow Dash as a symbol for this, except perhaps the one on the first post. I ask this so nopony gets offended.

also I wouldn't push Rainbow Dash into any sexuality whatsoever.
if she likes Rainbows, (and is colored rainbow), and called that way because of how can she make rainbows (as natural phenomenon), and she being sporty type is stereotyping her. By that definition, almost all women that are athletes, pros in some sports (not to mention extreme sports like Skateboarding or Snowboarding) are lesbians. I know many girls in snowboarding and skateboarding that are athletes, and somewhat tomboyish, but they are straight and they have boyfriends.

again, I don't have anything against Gays/lesbian/bi, but because of RBD being shortish and colored rainbow, I don't see her as lesbian or bi. Don't do what you're trying to stop. (stereotyping).

A little note, claiming Rainbow Dash as a symbol for a strong confident homosexual just because she's got a rainbow colored mane and acts kinda tomboyish is just as contradictory to one trying to make the point that you don't have to fit into normal gender roles as someone assuming that Fluttershy is straight just because she's got pink hair and acts kinda girly.

I'm just saying if you're going to make a point about gender roles, you really shouldn't make assumptions based on gender roles in that sort of manner because it's a bit contradictory.

Foxy! You mentioned that this thread is open to trolls. Are there any trolls on these forums? NAY!

Back on topic, I'm going to keep this short: Sexuality is a cover for the true person inside, which many fools find too difficult to penetrate. I'm looking at you, average British 13 to 18 year old chavs. *Snobby*

This please, I really don't want to see Rainbow Dash as a symbol of this. I don't mind this thread, besides the posting of Rainbow Dash. (Excluding; OP's post.)

Well some may be ex-trolls. Just saying. Anyways, back to the topic.
    _________

I remember back then in my High School years, that they had the GSA too.

Although I really don't want to discuss any of it... since everyone has their own opinions like me.

Anyways, please try to limit the usage of Rainbow Dash as a symbol. It means a lot to me, really.

    Thanks.

Well this will be an interesting thread. Anyways, I'm biquestrial, still haven't come out to my parents but I'd like to think I've come out to my friends... I just started RPing as a biquestrial pony then my friends asked why and I told them I was bi but I'm not sure if they think I'm kidding or not and I'm too embarrassed to ask.

I am totally okay with anyone being gay/bi/straight. I feel like people define that solely in a person. Not whether they are kind and awesome, but because of their preferences. You can trust me now, I'm not one of those people. So what if you are gay/bi/straight? It still makes you a wonderful person no matter what. What defines a person is how nice and loving they are to other people, not the things they like.......well, if you like ponies, you're automatically awesome, but seriously, I'm not going to make fun of you, call you names, beat you down or anything like that. I will still acknowledge the awesome person you are and nothing will make me change my mind.

    Seriously!
I mean, the person makes the person, not their sexuality or race...
I mean, look at Martin Luther King Jr.! He was a good man!
He automatically breaks the stereotype that blacks are uneducated and drug dealers...
It makes me sick seeing so much racism and hate on Bi/Gay people before... it hurts to see that, even though I'm neither of those things.
