These homophobic people are starting to get on my nerves. They literally are afraid of Gays and Bisexuals for no other reason then they like the same gender. They really need to lighten up because some of those people are the nicest people in the entire world

My views on this whole thing?

Firstly, I have one thing to say about the GLBT group is that while I have no problems with the people of the concept, I do have a problem with guys hitting on me.

Don't.

Second of all, on the topic of RD being a symbol of a GSA club thing, the most you can CONFIRM is that she's not afraid to be a scene kid and wear rainbow hair. The rest, like in most other fandoms I happen to belong to, is up for interpretation.

Thirdly, about trolls. Yes, there are trolls on this site. There is no forum without a troll, because this is the internet. However, the question is, how many of them, if there is more than one, would troll this thread? For one thing, bronies don't hate on basis of stereotypes, mostly. If only because of it being hypocritical. Also, we have the forum mods, at least one of which is keeping an eye on this thread.

Also, have some relevant statistics :
about 80% of equestria's population is female.
Make of that what you will.

Sorry, I probably should have been clearer.

One huge symbol for the LGBT community is the rainbow flag, or just rainbows. Rainbow Dash is rainbow-colored. The few LGBT supporting Bronies I've encountered agree that it's cool that Rainbow Dash is rainbow-colored, not because it means anything by itself, but because we have given it meaning. It's kinda cool to imagine a proud Lesbian, Bisexual, or at least LGBT supporting (give me that one, please) pony. The symbol is all in our imagination of who Rainbow Dash might be, in ways that the show will likely never define.

I'll admit, I'm probably biased. I write MLP fanfiction of the romantic variety, which means pairings. And I may or may not have a pairing planned for Rainbow Dash. xD

But, I see your point regardless.

And the approximate male/female ratio is 40:60.

Think what you will.

This is the part where I mention my previous post, specifically the statistic. Relevance has been achieved.

Well, Faust DID say they reproduce like any other mammalia. Lots of busy stallions?

That aside, a person's worth should be judged and measured based on their actions, merit and character. Not sexuality or interests.

What's more is it REALLY pisses me off to see people do otherwise. Believe it or not, it's holding us back in more ways than one. I'm not saying we need to like everyone but just enough to get along for the greater good. Seriously, if we all spent less time hating on stupid crap, we might have jetpacks already or touched down on Mars or something. Once society moves forward, many other areas do too.

I think harems.

Incidentally...
>busy stallions?

This means that ponies actively practice polygamy?

Lol, busy stallions...
But anyways, I may as well say, originally, when just seeing the name on the thread, I wondered what on earth it was for...
But now I see the neccessity for a thread like this. So, you know, kudos to Pnukup. I may not feel completely comfortable posting on such a thread, but I do think that it's needed.

Well, this depends. On Earth, I'm pretty sure horses and consequentially ponies don't mate for life. The real question here is does sentience mean the concept of polygamy is even present?

I'd say polygamy is present wherever creatures with the need for sexual reproduction are present, yeah.
*edit*
...had to reply to this, being mildly homophobic...
I don't hate gays. I don't even dislike them. I just don't feel comfortable getting hugged and the sort by them... not that I ever like getting hugged IRL, I like to keep to myself.
I don't have any problem with anyone, based on sexual orientation or religous beliefs. I simply don't feel comfortable with certain stereotypical mannerisms is all.
That being said, I may as well state that my opinion basically is, perfectly fine with homosexuals/transgenders, etc... just that as a straight male I don't feel the comfortablest with certain mannerisms.
Same as with everything else, there's no need to express your sexual orientation/religious beliefs to the point of uncomfortability for those who are different (or even with the same) beliefs as you.

I Have nothing wrong with Gays. Your Sexuality doesn't bother me, one bit. Others who say this is wrong is ignorant. So it not wrong to be Heterosexually but homosexual is? Who to say that both can't live on the same block? Both Sides deserve to be Happy for what they are.

Agree Thanapony. Let's all this get behind us and get back on track.

I agree with you 100%! My two best friends happen to be a lesbian couple. I have nothing but love and respect for both of them.

Canon: Not even interested in romance (at least, as far as we've seen).
Fanfiction/Art: Anything goes. Doesn't bother me since it's fanon, and I never treat fanon as Serious Business like someponies do. Plus I'm a notorious shipper and all. Hey, at least I'm honest!
In any case, I agree with Foxy that we don't use her as a symbol for this (apart from that neat picture in OP of course!).

^This, and quite a few other posts, sum up my feelings about this thread. I'm, to put it simply, just happy to see this thread now exists.

As I have mentioned briefly--at least in the EPR chat--I once attended a Catholic school. It wasn't really that bad (bullying was never really physical, although even if it was it probably would have been ignored just as much as the emotional bullying), but I do recall quite a bit of homophobia.

I don't recall use of gay slurs, at least not whenever I was in earshot. The word "gay" was used as slang for something the speaker disliked, something that I am ashamed to admit never really bothered me when I was younger. I never had a problem against gay people, I never understood why it bothered others, but I don't think I fully understood how badly they were discriminated against until more recent years. Or maybe it didn't bother me because I was more concerned about myself.

Then, I transferred to home/online schooling. I had more access to the internet than ever before. I know not to believe everything I read/see on internet or television, but I like to think I can tell the difference between something true and something false. The more I learned, and the more I thought about it, the more wrong it seemed that people would get so much hate for being who they are. Discrimination of any kind bothers me. I think it's mostly because I was bullied ("weight issues", to put it nicely), so I can understand being unfair discriminated against.

As for myself, well, I'm...honestly, I don't know. I'm sixteen, and I'm not sure if I'm emotionally or mentally mature enough to truly say. I can say, physically I've always been more attracted to girls. ^_^ I'd be equally flustered over someone of either gender showing an interest in me, mostly because, well, I don't see anyone wanting to "hit on" or whatever you dang kids call it these days me. :p
