So everytime people question me about my profile pic on steam when I play a game over steam, I always get that I either watch pony porn (I do not) or that I molest children. What could we as a community do about this, and how did it happen?
Welcome to the internet, enjoy your stay. But seriously, this is something we've always dealt with. Since Bronies are mostly adult male fans of a little girl's show, that's what close-minded people perceive us as. Haters gonna hate, so just keep calm and trot on. How many memes can I possibly fit into one post? lol
What can we do? Not much, to be honest. Try to ignore them. It kind of sounds to me that maybe they're just trying to rattle you, so they could beat you (in whatever game your playing). But that's just my opinion.
Rising above it is the best thing you can do Tassadarth. Watching clop and being a paedophile are some of the go to insults from narrow minded people who get a kick out of having a go at bronies. They are like a broken record really. As far as I'm concerned, the image of our fandom will most likely never be what we want it to be. More people are becoming more open-minded and couldn't care less if you watch Friendship is Magic, but unfortunately for every open minded person there is a narrow minded imbecile.
This seems most likely. They're just trying to make you annoyed so that you won't play as well in the game. It's a shoddy tactic and the best you can do is not let it work. Laugh at them and see if you can't convince others that those people are projecting. Turn the tides back against them. Overall, you really shouldn't have to worry about it. Just be yourself and the stereotype will just naturally be shown to be wrong. The main thing that irritates people about bronies is how it's treated like a big deal, like you have to keep it hidden or you're an "attention *****." The fact is that keeping it hidden is sort of a cry for attention in its own right. Better just treat it like anything else like drinking pop or enjoying sports or whatever.
Welcome to the internet, proceed to not give a buck. If you want to survive, you'll take that to heart; the internet really doesn't care about what anyone thinks.
You can't let those things bother you. They're words. I give them right back. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
I get that a lot on YouTube, though, I'm kinda-sorta asking for it... Doesn't bother me, though. I handle trolling and flaming quite well. I even had some troll admit his failure because he couldn't get me to crack. Twas pretty glorious. I'm also very comfortable with who I am, and I'm not going to change because some asswhipe on the internet has their jimmies rustled.
Going around ze Interwebz with pony avvies will garner you one of three reactions: A) complete indifference; B) obsessive brohoofing and/or fangasming over the show; or C) smartass remarks from haters. The lattermost is just run-of-the-mill trollage, nothing more. Sounds incredibly cliche, but the best reaction you could possibly give them is no reaction at all.
Well, you didn't deny the molestation part!:ahh: HAHA, just giving you a hard time, bro. I think that there is little that can be done about it. Society is going to say what they are going to say.
I really didn't think much less of what to do than what I've seen on this post so far. I just wanted to know what people thought about it that's pretty much all,
Well, that's just their opinion, man. Really. They know nothing. Nothing whatsoever. That or they just try to pick out the most sensationalist of stuff. Freaky shizz sell better than good stuff, you know? I think they be picking cherries. Yeah, that's right. There are awesome people to meet in this fandom I tell you. I kinda pity haters for missing out.
That's the thing that pisses me off the most when it comes to haters. They truly know nothing about us. They see that we're into a show, and think it's the perfect reason to discriminate us, and accuse us of things that are not true. They have no idea what we have been through, or all the things that make us good people. They make us feel like insignificant lesser beings simply because we like a cartoon, and it's not fair.
You said it, sister. Doesn't matter how old they are they still act like high school jocks who will look for any justification to bully others. All so they could feel superior to others. How low I tell you, how low. They're nothing but foaming apes who think they know sooooo much about what is right. Screw them, they're just dumb.
